OCD isn't about wanting to have certain thoughts. It's about getting stuck in them.

A myth about OCD is that people simply need to "stop thinking about it." If only it were that easy..

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) offers a different approach.

Instead of fighting every intrusive thought, ACT teaches you to:
đź’š Notice your thoughts without letting them control you.
đź’š Make room for uncertainty instead of chasing reassurance.
đź’š Focus on what truly matters to you.
💚 Take meaningful steps toward the life you want—even when OCD is along for the ride.

**The goal isn't to eliminate every unwanted thought.**

✨ The goal is to stop letting OCD make your decisions.

Healing doesn't come from winning every battle with your mind. It comes from building a life that's bigger than OCD.

You are not your thoughts. You are not your OCD. And recovery is possible. 💚🌳

đź’śSelf-care is more than just taking care of yourself.
✅Yes, it’s important to rest, recharge, and look after your own well-being, but I think true self-care goes deeper than that. 👋🏼It also means being present for the people you care about, offering support, showing kindness, and building meaningful relationships.

📌When we become so focused on ourselves that we lose sight of others, we often miss out on one of life’s greatest sources of purpose and fulfillment. Some of the most rewarding moments come from helping someone through a difficult time, listening when someone needs to be heard, or simply showing up for the people who matter.

***The interesting thing is that when we focus on being there for others, we often end up helping ourselves too. We gain perspective, strengthen our connections, and grow into better versions of who we are.

📌Self-care isn’t just about what we do for ourselves—it’s about who we become. 💛💜

‼️ Sometimes the best way to care for yourself is to care about something bigger than yourself.

đź’š Some days just don't go the way we hoped.

Maybe you had a bad morning, got overwhelmed, said something you wish you hadn't, or just feel like today is already off track.

Here's your reminder: You don't have to let one moment decide how the rest of your day goes.

Take a deep breath. Step outside for a few minutes. Grab some water. Reset.

You can always choose your next step...

Be kind to yourself today. We all have hard moments, and we all deserve the chance to start again.

đź’š You've got this.

đź’š Some days just don't go the way we hoped.đź’š

Maybe you had a bad morning, got overwhelmed, said something you wish you hadn't, or just feel like today is already off track.

Here's a fact: You don't have to let one moment decide how the rest of your day goes.

Take a deep breath. Step outside for a few minutes. Grab some water. Reset.

You can choose your next step!

Treat yourself kindly.

We all have hard moments, and we all deserve the chance to start again.

đź’šOur minds can be really convincing sometimes.

Our thoughts affect how we feel and what we do.

Try to catch that thought and remember that thoughts aren't facts.

When you catch yourself stuck in a negative thought today, pause for just a second and ask:

"Is there another way I could look at this?"

You don't have to force yourself to be positive; offer yourself a little grace and treat yourself more fairly.

🌱 *Insecure Attachment in Children: What It Looks Like & How We Can Help*

đźš© You might notice things like........

Every child is different, but some common signs include:

-Worrying about being left or separated
-Clinging to caregivers or, on the other hand, pushing them away
-Big emotional reactions that seem larger than the situation
-Constantly needing reassurance
—Difficulty trusting others
-Saying “I’m fine” while keeping feelings bottled up
—Wanting to control situations because unpredictability feels scary
-Struggling with friendships or relationships with adults
-Acting out or withdrawing when they need connection the most

* Often, these behaviors aren’t children trying to be difficult.

They’re trying to feel safe.

--Difficulty trusting others
-Saying "I'm fine" while keeping feelings bottled up
--Wanting to control situations because unpredictability feels scary
-Struggling with friendships or relationships with adults
-Acting out or withdrawing when they need connection the most

* Often, these behaviors aren't children trying to be difficult.

They're trying to feel safe.

One of the biggest misconceptions about insecure attachment is that it means a parent has failed. It doesn't.

Attachment is shaped by thousands of everyday interactions over time. Life happens. Stress happens. Trauma happens. Even the most loving parents have moments when they're overwhelmed or emotionally unavailable.

The important thing to remember is this: attachment isn't set in stone. Children are incredibly resilient, and relationships can heal.

đź’› What can contribute to insecure attachment?

Sometimes children don't consistently feel safe, understood, or emotionally connected. This can happen for many reasons, including:

Inconsistent caregiving
High levels of family stress
Trauma or loss
Frequent separations from caregivers
Emotional unavailability
Mental health or substance use challenges within the family
Unpredictable home environments

None of this automatically means a child will develop an insecure attachment. These are simply experiences that can make it harder for children to feel secure.

❤️ So what helps?

The goal isn't to become a perfect parent.

The goal is to become a safe place.

Children thrive when they know:

"You'll be there when I need you."
"My feelings are okay."
"I can make mistakes and still be loved."
"Even when we have hard days, we'll reconnect."

Small moments matter more than grand gestures.

Put the phone down for a few minutes. Sit beside them when they're upset. Listen before trying to fix the problem. Apologize when you lose your patience. Celebrate who they are—not just what they accomplish.

Those little moments are what build secure attachment.

🌿 The beautiful part...

Attachment can change.

With love, consistency, patience, and repair, children learn that relationships can be safe. They grow into adults who are better able to trust, communicate, regulate their emotions, and build healthy relationships.

Remember, children don't need perfect parents.

They need parents who keep showing up, keep repairing, and keep loving them—even after the hard moments.

❤️ Sometimes the most healing words a child can hear are:
"I'm here. You're safe. We'll get through this together."
