Parma Care Center had the absolute honor of hosting Mark and Megan’s wedding over the weekend, and it was truly one of the most special events we’ve had the privilege of being part of💍💒

Mark’s mother had originally planned to attend his wedding, but as her health began to decline, making it to the celebration was no longer feasible. Rather than let her miss out on such an important milestone, Mark and Megan brought the wedding to her, creating a beautiful and unforgettable moment for their family.

What made the day even more special was that our residents got to attend the wedding, too! Alongside family, friends, and our team, everyone came together to celebrate Mark and Megan’s love. There were smiles, happy tears, laughter, and so much love in the room. It was one of those days that reminds us just how meaningful it is to come together for life’s
biggest moments and make memories that will last a lifetime.

Our entire Parma Care Center family feels so incredibly honored to have been part of this
special day. We are grateful to Mark and Megan for allowing us to share in such a personal and beautiful moment, and we loved seeing our residents experience the joy of celebrating alongside their family.

At Parma Care Center, we believe that life’s most meaningful moments deserve to be celebrated, and this was certainly one we will never forget.

Happy Central Supply Day! A huge shoutout to our Central Supply Manager, who works hard behind the scenes to keep our building running smoothly!

From making sure our residents have everything they need to ensure our nurses and aides have the supplies necessary to provide quality care, their work plays such an important role in our everyday operations. We’re taking a little trip down memory lane with these super vintage photos from Parma Care Center in the late ’80s!

As the original building under Progressive Quality Care, Parma Care Center has been part of the community for many years. While so much has changed over the decades—from the building and the faces you see everyday, we’re proud to say that the heart behind what we do has remained the same.

Our company has come a long way since these photos were taken, but our mission, commitment to our residents, and desire to serve our community have always been at the center of what we do.

If you stop by our building, you just might get the chance to meet Barrett! 🐾💙

Barrett is our unofficial building mascot and one of the goodest boys around. He loves spending time with our residents and staff, bringing smiles, cheering everyone up, and, of course, getting plenty of pets! 🐶

His owner is our Administrator, Joseph, and we have to say… Barrett is looking extra adorable in his cutest outfit! 🥰

When he’s not busy making everyone’s day better, Barrett is a big fan of pup cups, pets, and being the center of attention. We’re pretty lucky to have him around!

Celebrating Our Amazing HR Manager, Shanika!
This HR Professionals Day on Saturday

We’re shining a spotlight on someone who brings so much heart, compassion, and dedication to Parma Care Center — our very own Shanika!
Shanika’s journey into healthcare started with her grandfather. After seeing how wonderfully he was cared for at another long-term care facility, she felt inspired to become a caregiver herself. That inspiration turned into a beautiful 19-year career as an STNA, along with 8 years working as a PCNA at Cleveland Clinic, where she continues to work PRN.
As Shanika says, caring for older adults has always been a blessing to her — and anyone who knows her can see just how much that means.

Her journey into HR at Parma Care Center was a bit unexpected. Originally hired as our scheduler, Shanika did such a fantastic job that when the HR position opened, several of her peers immediately thought she would make a wonderful Human Resources Manager. They were absolutely right!

Since stepping into HR, Shanika has found a role she truly loves. In her own words: “I love that I can have heart to heart conversations with the staff. Keeping me inspired in this role. Being the go-to person for staff makes my heart melt — they are wonderful people that I truly care about."

That genuine care is what makes Shanika so special. She shows up for her staff, supports her team, and brings compassion into everything she does.

A few fun facts about Shanika:
The way to her heart is a fresh pack of Twizzlers!
She’s a devoted Green Bay Packers fan. She loves watching The Good Doctor and 1000-lb Sisters. In her free time, you can find her coaching her cheerleading team!

Shanika, thank you for everything you do day in and day out for our staff, our residents, and Parma Care Center. Your heart for people is truly a gift, and we’re so lucky to have you on our team!

Celebrating Kristin and 15 incredible years of dedication to Parma Care Center!

Last night, we celebrated someone who is so much more than a nurse. Kristin has been a devoted night shift unit manager, a steady source of comfort, and a true blessing to our residents, families, and staff for the past 15 years.

It’s nearly impossible to put into words the impact she has had on our building. She has fed us, cut and dyed hair, scrubbed wheelchairs, stayed late documenting until her fingers were sore, and made sure every resident and staff member had exactly what they needed.

She has cried alongside families, held residents’ hands as they took their final breaths, tucked residents into bed, offered comfort during difficult moments, and shown up time and time again with nothing but kindness and love.

Kristin gives to others without a second thought. She has cared for people in ways that go far beyond a job description, leaving an imprint on the lives of so many people who have had the privilege of knowing her.

She is the definition of what it means to be a nurse. Compassionate, selfless, devoted, and always willing to do whatever it takes. She embodies the heart of Parma Care Center and everything we strive to be.

Kristin, thank you for 15 years of service, love, laughter, hard work, and an immeasurable amount of heart. Your legacy will live on in every resident you cared for, every family you comforted, and every staff member you supported.

We are so incredibly grateful for you and wish you nothing but happiness in this next chapter. You have given so much of yourself to others, and now it’s your turn to be celebrated, spoiled, and loved right back.

Congratulations on your retirement, Kristin! You will forever be a part of the Parma Care Center family💙
