Just joined my first IFS & Liberation consultation group this morning- and I’m still sitting with it.

As therapists, the work doesn’t stop when we get licensed.
If anything, it deepens.

Spaces like this challenge me to look beyond the individual story and hold space for the cultural, generational, and systemic layers that shape how we show up in the world.

Because healing isn’t just about “fixing” ourselves…
It’s about understanding all the parts of us- and the environments that shaped them.
And truthfully…
I can’t take my clients somewhere I’m not willing to go myself.

Especially the men I work with—who are often navigating years of silence, pressure, and unspoken pain.

This is the work. And I’m committed to it.

Most men think therapy starts when you start talking.

It starts the moment you decide to walk in.

I always tell my clients, the hardest job isn't mine, tt's yours sitting on that couch having the courage to be vulnerable.

Have you sat on a therapy couch?

Día de los Mu***os is a time we celebrate, honor, and remember those who are no longer with us. For some, this season brings forward recent loss — and for others, it reopens or reconnects us to grief we’ve carried for years.

El Día de Mu***os helps us process grief by inviting us to talk about our loved ones, share their stories, and keep their memory alive within our families and communities. The ofrendas — the altars — are not just displays. They are narratives. They’re a way to continue the relationship, to make meaning, and to heal.

Full transparency — I did not grow up practicing Día de Mu***os. It wasn’t until I got older that I connected spiritually with this tradition. And this year, my grief feels more present than usual — and I find myself more drawn to the healing practices of my ancestors. It feels deeply meaningful to intentionally connect with my past and spend time with those I’ve lost.

Tell the story of your people. Speak their name. Your grief is allowed.
