To anyone who grew up having to be the strong one…

The one who held it together while everything around you fell apart. The one who learned to read the room before you learned to read a book. The one who took care of everyone else's feelings because no one was taking care of yours.

Please here me when I say: You were so young to carry so much.

And maybe now, even as an adult, you still don't know how to put it down. Asking for help feels foreign. Falling apart feels dangerous. Rest feels like a luxury you haven't earned.

Guess what? That's not a personality trait. That's a wound.

You didn't choose to be the strong one. You became strong because you had to.

Healing doesn't mean becoming weak. It means finally having someone in your corner.... maybe for the first time. It means learning that you don't have to do it all alone anymore.

You've been strong enough for long enough. 🤍

If this lands with you, save it for the hard days. And know that support is here whenever you're ready.

A message to the part of you that doesnt trust therapy:

I know you have reasons.

You learned that vulnerability could be dangerous.

That trusting the wrong person could hurt.

So now you watch carefully.

You question.

You shut things down.

You stay guarded.

Not because you’re “resistant.”

Because you’re trying to protect the system.

Maybe therapy feels risky because:

â—Źbeing seen once felt unsafe
â—Źemotions once became overwhelming
â—Źno one helped when things got bad
â—Źtrust was broken before

Let’s take the pressure of having to trust.

This should not be forced.

Real trauma therapy should make space for caution.

For pacing.
For uncertainty.
For protectors.

You are not the problem for being careful.

Your vigilance makes sense.

And maybe healing begins
not when you disappear but when you no longer have to carry everything alone.🫶🏼

In trauma work, especially with complex trauma and dissociation, going faster doesn’t lead to healing.
It leads to overwhelm.

Real progress comes from building safety in ways the nervous system can actually tolerate:
♡Consistency.
♡Predictability.
♡Respect for all parts.
♡And a pace that doesn’t override the system.

Because when safety is felt, not forced, that is when the internal shifts occur✨️💛

Last night, I had the honor of hosting a gratitude dinner for our team, and I’m still sitting in so much appreciation.

I am endlessly grateful for this incredible group of humans. Not just for the brilliant therapists they are, their skill, their attunement, their clinical depth, but for who they are as people. I feel very lucky to be around such a wonderful community.đź’›

There is so much light and love in this group. The kind of light that walks with clients through the darkest trauma stories. The kind of love that holds complexity and deep pain with so much care.

Being in a room with them last night reminded me that this work is sacred and who we do it alongside matters. 🙏

So thank you to this beautiful team- I am so grateful for each of you being here ✨️✨️✨️

And shout out to Aimee, Daphne, Lulu, and Kristen who couldn't make it. You were all missed 🫶🏽
