👂 Do you know why you’re experiencing hearing loss?
Not all hearing loss is the same. It may be permanent due to damage to the cochlea (the delicate inner-ear structures responsible for hearing), or it could be related to a medical condition that needs further attention.

The good news? You don’t have to guess.

We have the equipment and technology to evaluate your hearing and help determine what may be contributing to your hearing loss.

📍 Come see us and get answers about your hearing health. Your hearing deserves a comprehensive hearing test, not just a hearing test. We are Doctors of Hearing!

Professional cleaning is one of the best ways to extend the life of your hearing aids. Since hearing aids are a significant investment, we’re here to help you keep them performing at their best.
During a professional hearing aid cleaning, we:
Vacuum the microphone ports to remove debris.
Remove moisture using our professional drying system.
Clean the battery or charging contacts. Clean your hearing aid chargers.
Clean the receivers and receiver connections.
Replace domes and wax guards as needed.
Clean custom receivers and earmolds.
For behind-the-ear (BTE) hearing aids, replace the tubing and thoroughly clean the earmolds and all hearing aid components.
Regular professional maintenance helps improve sound quality, reduces the risk of repairs, and can significantly extend the life of your hearing aids.

Over-the-counter (OTC) hearing aids do not provide the same level of benefit as prescription hearing aids, which are professionally programmed to match an individual’s specific hearing loss. In some cases, people purchase multiple OTC devices in an attempt to improve their hearing, ultimately spending more than they would have on an entry-level pair of prescription hearing aids.
While some users do report improvement with OTC devices, this is often because they are receiving general amplification rather than amplification tailored to their specific hearing loss. Because OTC devices are not customized, they may also amplify frequencies where hearing is already normal. This unnecessary amplification can make sounds uncomfortably loud, reduce speech clarity, contribute to listening fatigue, and expose areas of normal hearing to excessive sound levels that do not need amplification. In contrast, prescription hearing aids are programmed to amplify only the frequencies where hearing loss is present, providing a more comfortable and effective listening experience. Call us, our audiologists can help you.

🎗️ June 27 is National PTSD Awareness Day.

Did you know that post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and tinnitus are often connected?

Research shows that people living with PTSD are more likely to experience tinnitus, and the emotional and physiological effects of PTSD can make tinnitus seem louder, more distressing, and more difficult to manage. In turn, persistent tinnitus can contribute to increased stress, anxiety, sleep disturbances, and reduced quality of life.

Recognizing this connection is an important step toward providing comprehensive care. Audiologists play a valuable role in evaluating tinnitus, educating patients, and collaborating with mental health professionals to support overall well-being.

If you or someone you know is struggling with PTSD or bothersome tinnitus, know that help is available, and you don’t have to face it alone. 💙
