Always a pleasure spending time with the William Carey University Physical Therapy students.

Dr. Parker and Dr. Burns are always great to have us, and I truly enjoy getting the opportunity to teach, mentor, and pass along practical clinical skills to the next generation of physical therapists.

Today we spent time working through HVLAT manipulation concepts, clinical reasoning, patient safety, setup, positioning, and how to think through when these techniques may or may not be appropriate.

The technique matters, but the reasoning behind it matters even more.

Grateful for the opportunity to be part of their learning experience and excited to see where this group goes in the profession.

We’re excited to officially offer shockwave therapy at GT Physical Therapy.

Over the last several weeks, we’ve been incorporating this into select plans of care and have already seen some great patient responses.

Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive treatment option that may help with stubborn tendon pain, plantar fasciitis, Achilles issues, tennis elbow, rotator cuff pain, patellar tendon pain, and chronic soft tissue irritation.

We use it as part of a full rehab plan that includes movement assessment, strength work, mobility, and progressive loading.

The goal is simple. Calm pain, improve function, and help people get back to doing what they love.

Today we want to recognize and celebrate Mimi!! She is the most amazing Front Office Manager at GT Physical Therapy Clinic. 💙

Mimi is truly the backbone of our clinic. From managing billing, handling phone calls, scheduling, and keeping the front office running smoothly, to helping with any and all the responsibilities… she does it all! No matter how busy things get, she always goes above and beyond with patience, kindness, and a smile.

She is often the first voice patients hear and the first face they see when they walk through our doors, and she makes every person feel welcomed and cared for. Patients love her, our staff depends on her, and our clinic would not be the same without her dedication and heart.

Our business is growing: and now, so is our team.

Please help us welcome Jacob Cowart to GT Physical Therapy as our first clinical support staff member.

Jacob is from Pascagoula, Mississippi and is currently pursuing his Exercise Science degree at Ole Miss, where he will be entering his sophomore year. He is a recent 4.0 student and brings a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and a genuine interest in helping others.

As our patient caseload continues to grow, Jacob will be helping support patient care alongside Dr. Baskin and our team here at GT Physical Therapy.

We’re excited to have another local Pascagoula native joining us and look forward to watching him grow, learn, and develop in the healthcare field.
