It was National Hot Air Balloon Day at Creston Village. After a scenic drive to grab ice cream, we tackled an art project. Each of our Connections neighborhood residents painted a hot air balloon paper lantern.

They turned out beautiful and will hang in the neighborhood for a good while.

Many hands make light work.

Today we had student volunteers from the Cuesta College/Atascadero State Hospital Psych Tech Program arrange flowers donated by a newly married couple, decorate Father's Day gift bags, assist with ice cream social, reminisced with residents and a accomplished a special project that has been procrastinated on for far too long.

Connecting with our community is valuable to all.

Memorial Day was rich with meaning for us. After an all America lunch of hamburgers, hot dogs, potato salad and apple pie. Eliza Sings performed a special set of patriotic music to a packed house.

Every resident and staff received a Lest We Forget poppy pin.

Tears and cheers, and toasts with rootbeer floats, God Bless America!

Today the neighboring community of Shandon held their Memorial Day BBQ honoring two Creston Village Veteran's.

Our Korean War Army Veteran, Leonard Guadio is our oldest Veteran at 98 years young.

Beverly Daniel is our only woman Veteran, she served in the Air Force.

They both received high praise for their years of service, a plaque from the Shandon Comminty and a certificate of recognition from the County Supervisor, John Peshong.

Such a wonderful honor and pleasure to be part of this recognition of service to our Country.
