Last night, St. Mary's General Hospital in partnership with the City of Passaic, Passaic Police Department, and Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office announced the launch of the ARRIVE Together Program.
ARRIVE (Alternative Responses to Reduce Instances of Violence and Escalation) Together is a Statewide initiative led by the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General that improves how law enforcement responds to mental health and behavioral health crises. The program pairs specially trained officers with mental health professionals to help de-escalate crisis situations and connect residents with appropriate care and support services.
Passaic will implement both the Co-Responder Model, where clinicians respond alongside officers, and the Follow-Up Model, where mental health professionals continue outreach and support after an initial police response.
ARRIVE Together is about ensuring that people in crisis are met with care, not criminalization — and St. Mary’s General Hospital is a key partner in making that promise real.
Representing the program at the kickoff event was CEO Ed Condit, Outpatient Behavioral Health Services Director, Nicole Digiore, and Justice Involved Services Program Coordinator, Tee Gainey. Thank you to Passaic City Mayor Hector C. Lora, , and the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office for your continued support and partnership in improving the lives of those in our community.
