✨ Birth isn’t just something a partner watches—it’s something they can actively be part of.

The little things matter: words of encouragement, hip squeezes, helping with position changes, advocating for your preferences, offering water, or simply staying by your side.

What did your partner do during labor that made the biggest difference?

Partners aren’t just there to watch birth—they’re an important part of the birth team. ✨

One of my favorite parts of being a doula is helping partners feel confident and prepared to support you through labor.

That’s why I encourage partners to attend our prenatal meetings, where we cover childbirth basics, what to expect during labor, breastfeeding, newborn care, and how to recognize when something may need extra attention. Knowledge replaces fear and helps partners step into labor feeling ready.

During labor, I’ll guide partners with comfort measures like:
🤍Hip squeezes and counter pressure
🤍 Back and shoulder massages
🤍 Brushing your hair or gently rubbing your head
🤍 Holding your hand
🤍 Swaying and slow dancing together
🤍 Supported partner squats
🤍 Running warm water down your back in the shower
🤍 Offering a cool washcloth, water, and encouragement
🤍 Simply being a calm, reassuring presence

And while I’m caring for Mom, I’m caring for the birth partner, too.

I’ll remind them to eat, hydrate, and take a breather when needed. I’ll check in on them emotionally, answer questions, and help them feel steady and supported so they can be fully present for one of the biggest days of your lives.

Birth is a team effort. My goal is never to replace a partner—it’s to help them feel confident in their role. 🤍

You’ve heard me talk time and time again about the importance of movement during labor. But why is movement so important?

Movement is one of the simplest, yet most powerful, tools in labor.

Walking, swaying, changing positions, using a birth ball, leaning forward, or getting on hands and knees can all help:
🤍 Encourage baby to move into an optimal position.
🤍 Help labor progress more efficiently.
🤍 Allow gravity to work with your body—not against it.
🤍 Create more space in the pelvis for baby to navigate.
🤍 Ease discomfort by reducing pressure and encouraging better alignment.
🤍 Give you a sense of purpose and progress with each contraction.

Labor isn’t meant to happen in just one position. Your body is designed to move, and often, movement is exactly what helps labor unfold.

As your doula, I’ll offer position suggestions throughout labor based on how you and your baby are doing. Sometimes a simple change in position is all it takes to help labor keep moving.

Your body is wise. All we have to do is listen to it. 🤍

Birth is hard work. It’s physical, emotional, and deeply transformative. In the middle of labor, words matter.

These are the kinds of things I hope every mother hears:

✨ You’re safe.

✨ Your body was intentionally designed for this.

✨ Take one contraction at a time—you don’t have to think about the next one yet.

✨ You’re doing an incredible job.

✨ You and your baby are working together as a team.

✨ Each contraction is bringing you closer to meeting your baby.

✨ You don’t have to do this alone.

✨ Trust your instincts. You know your body.

✨ No matter how this birth unfolds, you are not failing.

✨ I’m here with you.

As a doula, I can’t take away the work of labor—but I can help carry the weight of it. Sometimes that looks like offering comfort measures, suggesting a new position, or explaining what’s happening. Other times, it simply means being a calm, reassuring presence who reminds you of your strength when you begin to question it.

Every woman deserves someone in her corner reminding her that she is capable, supported, and never alone.✨

🍼 Labor Advice We Are Leaving Behind👋 Truth We Are Taking Into Birth🤍

What’s one piece of labor advice you received that was actually helpful?

And what’s one piece you wish people would stop giving? 😅

We spend nine months preparing for baby… but how much time do we spend preparing for birth?

We carefully choose the nursery colors.
We wash the tiny clothes.
We install the car seat.
We stock up on diapers and wipes.

We spend months preparing for our baby’s arrival—but too often, we don’t spend that same time preparing for the birth itself.

Birth isn’t something that just happens. It’s something you can prepare for.

Preparing for birth means understanding your options, learning what physiological birth is, knowing what to expect as labor unfolds, and building confidence in your body’s design.

This is where a doula comes in.

My role begins long before labor does. I’ll help you prepare with education, personalized guidance, and trusted resources—from books, podcasts, and playlists to chiropractors, pelvic floor physical therapists, massage therapists, and more—all to help you feel confident, informed, and supported as you prepare for birth. Every recommendation is made with one purpose in mind: helping you feel confident, informed, and supported as you work toward the birth you desire. 🤍

Labor is unpredictable. It can last hours, sometimes even days. Nurses change shifts. Providers come and go. Family members need breaks.

But one thing shouldn’t change: the support you receive.

Continuous support means having someone by your side whose focus is entirely on you—encouraging you, helping you navigate decisions, suggesting comfort measures, supporting your partner, and reminding you of your strength every step of the way.

Research shows that women who receive continuous labor support are:

🤍 More likely to have a spontaneous vaginal birth.

🤍 39% less likely to have a cesarean birth.

🤍 On average a 41 minute decrease in the length of labor.

🤍 Less likely to need forceps or vacuum assistance.

🤍 More likely to describe their birth experience positively.

🤍 Less likely to request an epidural or other IV pain medications.

As your doula, I don’t replace your provider or your partner. I work alongside them, offering physical, emotional, educational, and spiritual support so you can feel informed, confident, and never alone. 🤍

“What type of births do you support?” 🤍

The answer is simple:

Your birth.

Whether you’re planning a:
🤍 Unmedicated birth
🤍 Epidural birth
🤍 Hospital birth
🤍 Birth center birth
🤍 Home birth
🤍 Induction
🤍 VBAC
🤍 Planned cesarean
🤍 Unexpected cesarean
🤍 Your first baby or your fifth…

I’m not here to support a specific birth plan—I’m here to support you.

My role isn’t to influence how you give birth. It’s to provide education, encouragement, comfort, and continuous support so you can make informed decisions and feel confident in the choices that are right for you and your family.

Every birth story is different, but every mother deserves to feel seen, heard, and supported throughout her journey.

🤍 Your birth. Your choices. Your support.
