The under-eye area is one of the most challenging areas to treat. Many patients are better surgical candidates than filler candidates. While filler can produce excellent results in carefully selected patients, over time it may not always maintain a natural appearance. Careful patient selection, conservative treatment, and long-term follow-up matter. This patient returned five years later after a single treatment with a durable, natural-looking result.

From Saving Lives to Changing Lives ❤️

Thirteen years ago, I took one of the biggest leaps of my life.

People often ask me, “Why would you leave a career you loved?”

The answer has never been about money, success, or building a business.

For more than two decades, my patients came to me because they needed surgery. They were facing cancer, trauma, chronic illness, pain, or life-changing operations. It was an incredible privilege to care for them during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

Those years changed me.

I spent thousands of hours in the operating room watching extraordinary surgeons perform facelifts, neck lifts, body contouring, and complex reconstructive procedures. I admired what surgery could accomplish, but I also witnessed the recovery, the risks, and the emotional journey that followed.

One question stayed with me.

What if there was another way?

What if I could help some people before they ever reached the operating room?

That question led me down an entirely new path.

Before I ever treated my first aesthetic patient, I spent nearly five years learning from some of the world’s leading experts. I wasn’t looking for a shortcut. I was searching for a philosophy.

One sentence changed my life:

“Don’t do aesthetics to become rich. Don’t do it to become famous. Do it because you have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in someone’s life.”

Thirteen years later, my purpose hasn’t changed.

I don’t see aesthetic medicine as vanity.

I see confidence.

I see prevention.

I see another opportunity to care for people.

I spent the first half of my career helping people through surgery. Today, I have the privilege of helping people, in a different way, before surgery ever becomes their only option.

Different mission. Same purpose.

To make a meaningful difference in another human being’s life.

Thank you to every patient who has trusted me over these past 13 years. I am deeply grateful. ❤️

From Saving Lives to Changing Lives ❤️ Thirteen years ago, I opened my aesthetic practice. People often ask me why I left a career I truly loved. The answer has never been simple. For more than two decades, my world was the operating room. My patients didn’t come to me because they wanted to look younger or feel more confident. They came because they needed surgery. They came with disease, trauma, cancer, chronic pain, and conditions that had turned their lives upside down. It was an extraordinary privilege to care for them during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. Those years shaped me in ways I can never fully explain, and they also gave me another perspective. Hour after hour, I watched brilliant surgeons perform facelifts, neck lifts, body contouring procedures, and complex reconstructive operations. I admired what surgery could accomplish, but I also witnessed the recovery, the scars, the risks, and the physical and emotional journey that followed. One question stayed with me: What if there was another way? What if I could help some people before they ever needed an operation? That question became an obsession. Before I ever treated my first aesthetic patient, I spent nearly five years learning from some of the world’s leading experts. I wasn’t looking for the fastest way into aesthetics, and I certainly wasn’t looking for another business. I was searching for a philosophy. One message changed everything: Don’t do aesthetics to become rich. Don’t do it to become famous. Do it because you have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in someone’s life. That became the foundation of my practice. Thirteen years later, technology has changed. Medicine has changed. I have changed. But my purpose has not. I don’t see aesthetic medicine as vanity. I see it as confidence. I see it as prevention. I see it as helping people feel comfortable in their own skin while preserving who they are. I spent the first part of my career helping patients through some of the hardest days of their lives. Today, I have the privilege of helping people face the mirror with a little more confidence. Different mission. Same purpose. To make a meaningful difference in another human being’s life. Looking back at this photograph, I don’t see the beginning of a business. I see the beginning of another chapter in a lifetime devoted to caring for people. And for that, I will always be grateful. ❤️

Severe atrophic scars are architectural problems, not just surface problems.

Case: Severe atrophic acne scarring with significant volume depletion.
Challenge: Atrophic scars are not just textural. Fibrous bands tether the dermis to deeper structures, creating fixed depressions. Volume loss further accentuates shadowing and contour irregularity. Single-modality treatments rarely address both components.

Approach by Dr. Shanthala, MD: Several sessions of same-day multimodal therapy combining Subcision, PRP, Fillers, and LaserCoring.
Subcision: Physically releases subdermal fibrotic adhesions to elevate the scar base and create space for collagen deposition.
Volume Restoration: Hyaluronic acid filler placed post-subcision occupies the subcision pocket, preventing re-adhesion while restoring lost volume. PRP provides growth factors to support tissue regeneration.
LaserCoring: Fractional ablative technology excises full-thickness columns of scarred skin. The controlled removal and healing recruits normal collagen and elastin, improving texture and dermal architecture over time.

Why same-day? Combining release, volume, and resurfacing in one visit addresses the scar at multiple structural levels while leveraging the wound-healing cascade once.

Important: How Dr. Shanthala approaches each case and which order varies by patient anatomy and scar type. Come in for consultation to determine the right plan.

Happy 31st Birthday, sweetheart.

You gave up more of your childhood than I ever realized. While your dad and I were trying to build our future, you quietly helped hold our family together. You loved your brother and sister, protected them, and carried responsibilities no child should ever have to carry. Looking back, I now understand how much we depended on you, and how much of our family’s strength came from you.

Thirty-one years later, you are still the heart of our family, our greatest blessing, and one of the best things that has ever happened to us. We couldn’t be prouder of the woman you have become. We love you beyond words. ❤️

To my greatest blessing… ❤️Happy Birthday.Love you beyond words.
