June is Men's Health Month, and men are taking an active role in prioritizing their physical, mental, and social well-being. They are embracing healthier lifestyles, building friendships, and staying actively involved well into their later years.
Brooksby Village Fitness Coordinator Scott Hall has been teaching a Men in Motion fitness class twice a week for over 12 years. The workout improves muscle strength and endurance while using dumbbells and resistance bands.
“This class has been great for men at Brooksby Village to come and improve their strength and overall well-being,” said Hall. “Some residents have been taking this class for over 10 years! It’s become one of the highlights of my week to see them challenge themselves and prove that taking care of your health can be rewarding and fun.”
From participating in fitness classes to teaching lifelong learning programs and volunteering through resident-led initiatives, men at Brooksby Village are fostering connection, purpose, and social engagement within the community.
