Sometimes, you just don't feel like eating a full meal—and that's common when taking a GLP-1 medication. That's why prioritizing high-protein snacks is so important.

These are 5 easy, grab-and-go snacks I encourage my GLP-1 patients to include in their diet:

🥣 Greek yogurt (try it as a parfait or smoothie)
🥚 Hard-boiled eggs
🫛 Edamame
🫘 Beans (such as black beans or chickpeas)
🧀 Cottage cheese

Need more ideas? The MDVIP Connect Portal is a great resource for additional high-protein snack and meal recipes!

It can be stressful trying to get enough protein while taking a GLP-1 medication.

That's why I help guide my patients to think differently about protein. Small, protein-rich meals and snacks throughout the day can make it much easier to meet your protein goals and support muscle health.

If you're one of my patients, remember that you never have to figure it out alone. I'm available 24/7 to answer your questions and support you every step of the way. 🙂👍

Here are 6 foods that may make GLP-1 side effects worse 👇

🍟 Fried & greasy foods – Can worsen nausea and indigestion.
🍰 Sugary foods & drinks – May increase nausea and make blood sugar harder to manage.
🌶️ Spicy foods – Can trigger heartburn and stomach discomfort.
🍊 Acidic foods – For some people, tomatoes, citrus, and vinegar-based foods may worsen reflux.
🥩 High-fat foods – Fatty cuts of meat, bacon, sausage, full-fat dairy, and creamy sauces can be harder to digest and may increase nausea or feelings of fullness.
🍬 Sugar alcohols – Found in many sugar-free candies, protein bars, and gums, these ingredients can cause gas, bloating, diarrhea, and cramping.

Everyone responds differently to GLP-1 medications, so you may not need to avoid all of these foods. The key is paying attention to what your body tolerates best.

My team and I are here to support you every step of your GLP-1 journey. If you're struggling with side effects or have questions, reach out—we're happy to help you find strategies that work for you so you can feel your best while reaching your weight loss goals.

If you're feeling tired, have joint or bone pain, mood swings, or muscle weakness - low vitamin D could be one possible culprit.

While not everyone is deficient, vitamin D deficiency is common enough that I routinely check for it in my patients.

If you're experiencing any of these symptoms or wondering whether a vitamin D supplement is right for you, I'd be happy to help you explore your options.

07/29/2026

I'm a huge proponent of Vitamin D—and here are 5 facts everyone should know:

🦴 Vitamin D acts like a hormone—not just a vitamin.
💪 It helps your body absorb calcium for strong, healthy bones.
⚠️ Many people are at risk for Vitamin D deficiency.
🚫 Too much Vitamin D can be toxic.
🐟 Only a handful of foods naturally contain Vitamin D.

Wondering if you're getting enough Vitamin D or whether a supplement is right for you? Let's talk about your individual needs at your next appointment. Together, we’ll answer your questions and determine what's best for you.

07/27/2026

Why do I encourage my patients to spend 20–30 minutes outdoors each day as a physician? ☀️
Because sunlight does more than brighten your day. It supports vitamin D production, can help boost your mood, decrease blood pressure, and plays an important role in your overall health.
So enjoy the fresh air, soak up a little sunshine, and don't forget your sunscreen! 🧴
