This week, I had the privilege of attending the 2026 AIM-AHEAD Annual Meeting—an inspiring gathering of clinicians, researchers, innovators, community leaders, and advocates working to ensure that artificial intelligence advances health for everyone.
Many people are surprised to learn that when I’m not supporting women through birth, postpartum, pelvic wellness, and holistic care, I’m also leading national efforts at the intersection of healthcare, clinical research, and artificial intelligence.
As the Director of the CLINAQ (Clinicians Leading Ingenuity in AI Quality) Fellowship Program, I have the honor of preparing clinicians across the country to responsibly integrate AI into healthcare through research, innovation, and equitable implementation. Through AIM-AHEAD, our work focuses on ensuring AI is developed with diverse communities in mind—not around them.
For me, these two worlds are deeply connected.
Maternal health deserves innovation that is ethical, inclusive, and informed by the lived experiences of women. AI has the potential to improve early risk identification, expand access to care, reduce disparities, and support clinical decision-making—but only if the voices of patients, families, birth workers, and communities are part of the conversation.
That brings me to you.
I want to hear from my community.
When you hear the words “Artificial Intelligence” and “maternal health,” what comes to mind?
• Does AI excite you or concern you?
• Would you trust AI as part of your pregnancy or postpartum care?
• What questions or fears do you have?
• Where do you think technology could better support women and families?
Your perspective matters. The future of maternal health shouldn’t be built only in research labs or boardrooms—it should be shaped by the communities it is meant to serve.
As I continue bridging clinical practice, women’s wellness, and AI innovation, I’m committed to making sure our voices remain at the center of these conversations.
Let’s talk. I’m listening
