PHILLIP JAMES BOGLE, 56, of Charlotte, NC, and formerly of Bland, VA, passed away Monday, August 10, 2026 at his home. He was born August 20, 1969 in Radford, VA, the son of the late Jim & Mary Bogle.

Phillip was the sweetest, funniest and most caring nurturer who had the biggest heart and brightest smile. Best known for his quirky personality, within his presence, you would feel endless happiness.

He was always full of love for everyone around him. Not only was he a friend who loved and didn’t judge, he was often there for his friends when others didn’t notice.

He was a graduate of the Bland High School Class of 1987. He worked for ABB in the stock room before relocating to the Charlotte area and working as a technician at Lenscrafters. As his health began to deteriorate, he was content being at home with Wayne and his cats.

He enjoyed decorating his home and working in his outdoor flower gardens. He loved being in nature and loved all animals.

Phillip included many into his chosen family. He was not just a friend, but was a piece of your heart. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Daniel & Mary Evelyn Franklin Bogle, his life partner of over 35 years, Wayne Maikranz, a special grandmother, his “Mamaw” Pearl Baker Franklin and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Left to cherish his memory are his brother, Danny Bogle; his Bogle family cousins, Dewey Bogle and Janeth VandenDungen; several Franklin family cousins; a very special lifelong friend, Darrell Weddle and several extended family members, special neighbors and special friends.

Per his wishes, Phillip will be cremated. A memorial service will be planned for a later date.

JUANITA GAYLE FARLOW, 75 of Bland, VA, passed away Saturday, August 1, 2026 at Pulaski Health & Rehab Center. She was born October 24, 1950 in Bland, VA, the daughter of the late Lewis & Louise Carroll.

Gayle attended church at Mechanicsburg Christian Church. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. She was a special lady and will be missed by those who loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis Lee & Mary Louise Walker Carroll, her brother, Floyd Lee Carroll, her sisters, Dorothy Drummond and Geneva & Ward Pauley, her nephew, Ward Clifton Pauley, and her niece, Ashlee Drummond.

Left to cherish her memory are her sister & brother-in-law, Sheila & Ray Claiborne; her nephew, Kevin Pauley; her niece, Amy Drummond; her companion, Gary Lawson; and several cousins, special neighbors and friends.

Per her wishes, Gayle will be cremated. A private memorial is planned for a later date.

DAVID STEVE FAULKNER, 79, of Bland, VA passed away Friday, July 31, 2026 at Raleigh Court Health & Rehab. He was born January 6, 1947 in Bland, VA, the son of the late Robert Wade & Mamie Ruth Wright Faulkner.

Steve was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He served during the Vietnam Era and received 2 Purple Heart honors. He was a past member of the Bland VFW Post # 7969 and a current member of the Bland American Legion Post #20.

He was quick witted and had quite the sense of humor. He enjoyed working puzzles, watching movies and being outdoors. In his earlier years, he enjoyed deer hunting and trout fishing.

Left to cherish Steve’s memory are his loving wife of almost 18 years, Anna Darlene Hager Faulkner; his son & daughter-in-law, Shawn & Kari Pinkney Faulkner; his sister, Ella Jean Blankenship; his brothers & sisters-in-law, Keith Faulkner & Peggy Wright, Randy & Libby Faulkner and Ricky Faulkner; his nieces and nephews, Kristol Blankenship, Thomas Blankenship, Sherri Rice, Adam Faulkner, Brian Faulkner, Brandon Faulkner and Robert Faulkner; several cousins, extended family members, special friends and neighbors.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, White Gate, with Jim Conley officiating. Burial will follow in Shiloh Cemetery where military rites will be provided by the Bland American Legion Post #20.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 P.M. until service time, 2:00 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made in Steve’s honor to the Bland American Legion Post #20, c/o Stephen Kelley, 3505 E. Blue Grass Trl., Bland, VA 24315.

RANDALL DEWAYNE RATCLIFFE, 52, of Bland, VA, passed away Sunday, July 27, 2026. He was born October 3, 1973 in Wythe County, VA, the son of Cecil Edgar Ratcliffe and Anable Lee Rose Harden.

Randall was a hard worker and enjoyed helping others. He was a licensed tow-motor operator.

He attended church at the Old Landmark Church. He enjoyed playing board games with his daughter.

He was an avid NASCAR fan, especially favoring Davy Allison. He also was a football fan and followed the L.A. Rams.

Randall was preceded in death by his father, Cecil Edgar Ratcliffe, and his grandparents, William Burton & Callie May Ratcliffe and Clarence Edward & Beverly Ann Rose.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother & step-father, Anable & James Harden; his daughter, Shaylee Jane Ratcliffe; his brothers, Ronald Ratcliffe and Johnny Owens; his sister Tracy Lynn Ratcliffe; his nieces and nephew, Trinity Jackson, Cory Ratcliffe and Kelsey Stroupe; his girlfriend, Tabitha Snuggs; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends.

Randall will be cremated. A memorial service is planned for Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at 6:00 P.M. at the Old Landmark Church, 6974 E. Blue Grass Trl., Bland, VA, 24315, with Pastor John Thornsberry officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made in Randall’s honor directly to A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home, 2508 Walkers Creek Valley Rd., Pearisburg, VA 24134, to help offset funeral expenses.
