Patient: “My knee hurts when I walk.”

PT student: “Okay… have you tried not walking on it?” 😂

Well, technically she’s not wrong. 🤷‍♂️

(Don’t worry, it’s a skit 😅)

🦶 Morning heel pain? Your first few steps don’t have to be the worst part of your day.

Plantar fasciitis is a common cause of heel pain, especially when getting out of bed or standing after sitting for a while.

Swipe through for 3 simple care tips that may help:

1️⃣ Move your ankle and toes before you stand
2️⃣ Work on calf and ankle flexibility
3️⃣ Gradually strengthen your foot and calf

These strategies can be helpful, but persistent heel pain deserves a closer look. Not every case of heel pain is plantar fasciitis, and treatment should address what’s actually contributing to your symptoms.

⚖️ Feeling unsteady? Don’t assume it’s just part of getting older.

Changes in balance can be related to strength, coordination, vision, the vestibular system, or how your body responds to movement.

If you’re noticing that you’re holding onto furniture, feeling less confident on stairs, or worrying more about falling, a balance evaluation can help identify what may be contributing.

At FYZICAL Therapy & Balance Centers – West Pearland, we help patients improve balance, strength, and confidence so they can stay active and independent.

📞 Call or text 832-948-9922 to schedule a balance evaluation.

🚗 What if driving is what makes you dizzy?

For this patient, busy roads and moving traffic triggered dizziness and anxiety. Instead of avoiding driving, Elizabeth used VR-based optokinetic training to safely recreate those visual challenges in the clinic.

By gradually exposing the brain to real-world driving scenes in a controlled environment, we help reduce motion sensitivity and build confidence—one session at a time.

Every patient has a different story. This is one of our Real Rehab Stories.

LOW BACK PAIN? It may not only be your back.

Many people assume low back pain is caused by a “tight muscle.” While that can be part of the picture, it’s often how your body moves as a whole that contributes to ongoing discomfort.

Your core, hips, posture, and movement patterns all work together to support your lower back. When one area isn’t functioning well, your back may end up doing more work than it should.

At FYZICAL Therapy & Balance Centers – West Pearland, we don’t just focus on where it hurts—we identify the underlying movement issues and create a personalized plan to help you move with greater confidence.

Our treatment focuses on:
✔️ Movement Assessment
✔️ Core Stability
✔️ Functional Strength

The goal isn’t just to relieve pain today—it’s to help you move better, feel stronger, and reduce the chance of your pain returning.

If back pain is keeping you from doing the things you enjoy, don’t wait for it to get worse.

If you‘ve been stretching your neck all day and it still hurts, the problem may not be your neck.

Neck pain, headaches, shoulder tension, and poor posture are often connected. When one area isn’t moving well, other muscles and joints can start compensating—leading to recurring discomfort and stiffness.

Physical therapy looks beyond the symptoms to identify the movement patterns contributing to pain and helps you build a plan for lasting improvement.

Don‘t just manage the pain. Find the cause.

What looks like a simple task is actually an important step in recovery.

After hand surgery, regaining dexterity takes patience, repetition, and purposeful movement. In this session, Emily is working with a patient on fine motor control by picking up small glass balls—an exercise designed to improve coordination, grip, and hand function.

The goal isn’t just to move the objects. It’s to help patients return to everyday activities like buttoning a shirt, opening containers, writing, cooking, and using their hands with confidence again.

Every movement matters. Every repetition counts.
