Pecos Funeral Home has been serving the families of Pecos and Reeves County for over 80 years.Originally located on Oak Street serving the area as a furniture store and mortuary.Pecos Funeral home moved to our current location in the late 1960’s at 607 W. 3rd in Pecos in the former Ross house. The original house was built in 1912, and we are happy to show people around the old house any time they would like.Our funeral home offers families a large chapel for memorial services or funeral services.We offer a wide verity of service options to give families the ability to personalize each funeral or cremation service to remember their loved ones. Dominic Armendariz, 21, of Pecos, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, in Pecos, Texas.

Dominic was born on August 26, 2005, in Odessa, Texas, to Manuel and Roxann Armendariz. He was raised in Pecos, where he attended local schools and graduated from Pecos High School.

Throughout his school years, Dominic was actively involved in athletics, participating in football, basketball, and baseball. His love for sports was an important part of his life, allowing him to build friendships, create lasting memories, and share his passion for the games he enjoyed.

Dominic's life, though far too short, will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be remembered for the memories he shared with his family, friends, and teammates. His passing leaves an immeasurable void in the lives of his loved ones, but the love and memories they shared with him will remain forever.

Dominic was preceded in death by grandparents, Margarito Armendariz and Mario Flores, and his cousin, Esmeralda Montaño.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving parents, Manuel and Roxann Armendariz; his brothers, Miguel Heidi Soto, Damian Dasani Armendariz, Ramon Armendariz, Manuel Armendariz Jr; his sisters, Yaritza Miguel Saenz and Yarali Armendariz; his maternal grandparents, Luis and Rachel Rodriguez and Grandfather Lee Roy Licon and his paternal grandmother, Maria Elena Flores. He also leaves behind six nieces, six nephews, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Pallbearers honoring Dominic will be Damian Armendariz, Jeremiah Tarin, Zack Tarin, Samuel Tarin, Josh Torres, Kodi Anchondo, John Lares, and Xavier Bustamantes.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Miguel Soto, Chewy Vallejos, Miguel Saenz, Jv Rodriguez, Ethan Orona, Iran Espudo, Ramon Venegas, Federico Urias, and Danny Salcido.

The family of Dominic Armendariz wishes to express their deepest and most sincere gratitude to everyone who came together to help raise funds and to all those who extended their love, kindness, prayers, generosity, and support during this incredibly difficult time.

Your thoughtful gestures, comforting words, and willingness to lend a helping hand have meant more to the family than words can express. Each act of kindness has been a source of strength and comfort, and the family will forever be grateful for the overwhelming love and support shown to them.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Pecos Funeral Home, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Santa Rosa de Lima Catholic Church in Pecos, Texas.

Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Pecos, Texas.

Dominic may be gone from our sight, but he will never be forgotten. His memory will live on forever in the hearts of all who loved him.

Celia Carrasco Ulate, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully in her hometown of Pecos, Texas, on October 7, 2026, at the age of 86.

Born on July 9, 1940, to Guadalupe and Marina Carrasco, Celia was a cherished member of the community known for her delightful cooking and baking-affectionately nicknamed the "biscocho lady." she was also a talented seamstress and a generous soul who was always ready to lend a helping hand to family and friends. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her loved ones, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter Gloria and her husband Larry, her sons Juan and his wife Sulema, and Gabriel and his wife Elsie. Celia also leaves behind her sister Mary "Babe" Ramos and her husband Frank, her brothers Rufino "Bobby" Carrasco and his wife Adelina, and Arnulfo and his wife Estella.

Her legacy continues with her adored granddaughter Alessandra, along with her grandsons Alfred, Jeremiah, and Jonathan, and seven great-grandchildren: Nathan, Jacob, Joshua, Gabriel II, Brianna, Valerie, and Donovan. Celia will be deeply missed by her many nieces and nephews as well.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during visitation at Pecos Funeral Home on Monday, October 12, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with a Rosary service set for 7:00 PM that evening. A graveside service will follow on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Mount Evergreen Cemetery in Pecos, Texas.

We gather to honor and celebrate Celia's life, holding her memory close as we cherish the love and warmth she brought to all of us.

If you’ve ever walked through an older cemetery, you may have noticed that many graves are arranged with the deceased’s feet toward the east and head toward the west.

This tradition has deep roots in Christianity. Historically, graves were often positioned this way so the deceased would symbolically face the rising sun and, according to Christian tradition, be facing east at the resurrection.
The practice also gave many cemeteries a consistent layout, though burial customs vary by culture, religion, cemetery and time period.
