In Loving Memory of Bobbie Denton
Bobbie Denton was born on April 28, 1940, in Lordsburg, New Mexico, to Robert Woodrow Earven and Jessie Lee Shores Earven. She grew up in Duncan, Arizona, where she developed a love of learning and a strong determination that would remain with her throughout her life.
Bobbie graduated from Duncan High School in 1958. After high school, she attended Arizona State University, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Education. Bobbie worked as a telephone operator at night to pay for her education.
Bobbie dedicate her life to educating children. She spent ten years as an elementary school teacher in Fort Thomas, Arizona, followed by 23 years teaching in Pecos, Texas. For more than three decades, she touched the lives of countless children.
While attending college, Bobbie met the love of her life, John Henry Denton. They married on May 29, 1965, beginning a beautiful marriage filled with love and laughter for 51 wonderful years together.
Bobbie and John were blessed with three daughters, whom Bobbie loved deeply and devoted herself to raising. She was a loving mother, a cherished wife, a devoted teacher, and a wonderful role model.
Bobbie is preceded in death by her parents Robert & Jessie Earven. Special Cousin Lawrence “Jimmy” Gay, and her husband, John Denton.
Bobbie is survived by her daughters Sheri Miller-Ortiz and husband Joe, Roberta Read and husband Quail, Jonnie Benge and husband Ronnie. Her grandchildren are James Miller and wife Lisa, Joshua Miller, Sheridan Dancer, Riley Read and fiancé Garrett Box, Quinlan Read, Colton Benge, and four great grand children. She is also survived by her good friend and roommate Barbara Milton.
Pallbearers will be Colton Benge, Ronnie Benge, Joshua Miller, Joe Ortiz, Quail Read, and Clay Walker.The family of Bobbie Denton wish to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Viki Forlano, Velma, Becky, Terry, and Holla for the exceptional care they provide for her.
Visitation for Bobbie will be held on Tuesday September 8, 2026 Starting at 1:00 pm until service time. Funeral Service will follow the visitation at 2:00 pm. Bobbie will be laid to rest at Mount Evergreen Cemetery
