OBITUARY
“Grandma” Ruthie Mariella passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. She was born at Mother Cabrini Hospital in Manhattan, on February 12, 1951, to Vincent “Poppy” and Ruth “Sis” Tremamunno. Ruthie was then raised in the Pelham Bay area of the Bronx where she spent 72 years before moving to Carmel, NY. In 1970 she married Frank Mariella, and they had two sons.

Ruth worked at Yorkville Federal Bank, but the career closest to her heart was working as a nursing department administrator for Calvary Hospital, and the Calvary Fund. Ruthie thrived in helping others, so a career in fundraising was a natural fit.

Ruth was a dear friend to thousands and affectionately known as “Mom” to a generation of young men from the Bronx. “Grandma Ruthie” was well known for her delicious cooking and overwhelming devotion to the New York Yankees.

Ruth is survived by her sons Christian and Jason; her daughters-in-law Anna and Talia; her four beloved grandchildren Vincent, JP, Isabel and Emma; her sisters Susan (Sue Sue), Theresa (Aunt Ter); her sister-in-law Angela (Ponti); her nieces Kim, Jennifer, Sarah, Amanda, Niki, and Jesse, and her nephews Jo-Jo and Charlie.
“To have known her was to love her and be loved by her”.

OBITUARY
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, whose life was defined by his unwavering love for his family.

He was a man of quiet strength, steady guidance, and generous spirit. Above all else, he cherished his family - often offering words of wisdom at the kitchen table, cheering from the sidelines, or lending a helping hand without being asked. He made those around him feel supported and deeply loved.

He built a life grounded in hard work, integrity, and compassion. His example taught his children the value of honesty, perseverance, and kindness. His grandchildren will forever remember his warm smile, comforting embrace, and the stories he told so well.

He is survived by his loving spouse Sandra; his children Frank Michael, Marc, and Violet; his treasured grandchildren Frank Joseph, Nicholas, Leah, and Mason; his sisters Marie, Joanna, and Joy; his brother Paul; and many extended family members and friends, whose lives were enriched by knowing him. He was preceded in death by loved ones who surely welcomed him with open arms.

While our hearts ache in his absence, we find comfort in the countless memories he leaves behind - family gatherings, filled with laughter; conversations, full of wisdom; and the enduring legacy of love he installed in all of us.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
