Here's the part the tier list doesn't have room for.
The tiers aren't really about the position. They're about what your neck is doing for 7 hours. Stomach sleeping is D tier because your head has to turn to breathe, so every night is a long, one-sided neck stretch. Your arm as a pillow is C tier for the same reason, plus a shoulder pinned overhead and a hand that keeps going numb.
Back sleeping only lands at B because of the pillow, not the position. A standard pillow is one thickness for everyone. Too thick pushes your chin toward your chest. Too flat leaves your neck hanging. Either way, the curve in your neck spends the night unsupported.
That's why the S tier is the same two positions with a personalized neck pillow: one sized to your neck and your mattress, so the curve is held where it's supposed to be. On your side, the pillow between your knees keeps your hips stacked so your low back isn't twisting while you sleep.
If you wake up stiffer than you went to bed, your sleep setup is worth a look. We fit neck pillows at Total DC Wellness in Pembroke Pines. Send us a DM or book through the link in bio.
