Mother’s Care is the ONLY Doula Service in South Florida to be granted the title of “Preferred Provider” for the Memorial Healthcare System which includes the hospitals Memorial Hospital West in Pembroke Pines, Florida, Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood, Florida and Memorial Miramar Hospital in Miramar, Florida. A title also granted to us by the North Broward Hospital District (Broward General Medical Center and Broward Health Coral Springs) along with Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach! We believe what families need most is nurturing and gentle support. We believe that each pregnancy, labor and birth is a unique and miraculous experience and the emerging family is the center and focus of that experience. Since no two births are the same each family should be able to choose for themselves how they would like to create their individual birth experience- where they feel safe, who they want to receive their baby, what friends/family will be present and whether they want to use pain medications and other medical interventions. It is our ultimate goal to support our Mother’s Care Family Members in reaching their goals and not try to persuade them to give birth in any particular way. Once a baby is born, we believe in supporting the new mother and her partner meet their needs while teaching them how to meet the needs of their new baby – or babies! It is our goal to be the bridge that gently closes the gap between birth and parenthood by providing education, instruction and physical and emotional support.
