Dr. Luis Hoyos recorded this one just before the name got its glow-up, so you’ll hear the old terminology here. Consider it a fun little time capsule. The name changed, but the medicine didn’t.

September is PMOS Awareness Month.

Polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome — formerly PCOS. Same condition, same care. The name just finally says what's driving it: hormones and metabolism, not cysts.

It's one of the most common causes of infertility, and one of the most misunderstood. Irregular cycles, ovulation changes, symptoms that get treated separately for years before anyone connects them.

We'll be talking about it all month.
