PEMBROKE – Dan G. Stauffacher, 78, of Pembroke, passed away peacefully at Hillsborough County Nursing Home on Sunday, August 30, 2026, following a period of failing health.

He was born on August 17, 1948, in Corona, California, the son of the late Robert and Ida Merle (Lee) Stauffacher.

Dan was raised in Corona and graduated from Corona High School in 1966. He went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in philosophy and psychology from La Verne College in California in 1970. He later received his Master of Divinity from Bethany Theological Seminary in Illinois in 1973, followed by his Doctor of Ministry from Chicago Theological Seminary.

Dan married the love of his life, Pamela Imwie, in 1972. He served as pastor of Burr Ridge United Church of Christ in Burr Ridge, Illinois, and Geneva Congregational Church in Geneva, Illinois, serving seven years at each church. In 1995, Dan moved to New Hampshire, where he served as pastor of the United Church of Christ in Pembroke for 10 years. He also founded and served as pastor of Faith Meeting House Church in Allenstown, NH.

Dan had many interests and enjoyed woodworking, mini cars, teaching, drum making, and eating good food. He will be remembered for his quick wit, intelligence, and wonderful sense of humor.

In addition to his parents, Dan was predeceased by his brother, Steven Stauffacher.

Dan is survived by his loving wife, Pamela Stauffacher of Pembroke; his sons, Paul Stauffacher and his partner, Jen of Pembroke and David Stauffacher and his wife, Jennifer of Wisconsin; his grandchildren, Anevay, Harrison, Levi (Elisa) and Eleanor (Reian); and his brother, Robert Stauffacher and his wife, Kathy of California.

A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Roan Family Funeral Home, 167 Main Street, Pembroke. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dan’s memory may be made to the Pembroke Library, 313 Pembroke Street, Pembroke, NH 03275, or Pope Memorial SPCA, 94 Silk Farm Road, Concord, NH 03301.

ALLENSTOWN- Mr. Armand J. Tourangeau, 91, of Allenstown, passed away peacefully at home on August 16, 2026 after a long period of declining health.

Born in Quebec City, Armand was raised and educated there before coming to New Hampshire in 1973.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a groundskeeper for the Manchester Country Club. He was a former member of the Board of Directors for the Intervale Country Club.

Armand enjoyed golfing and walking his wife’s horses every day. He had a knack for music and could play just about any instrument. He was also a talented singer and sang in a Canadian band.

He was predeceased by 8 brothers and sisters.

Armand is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Sandra (Cote) Tourangeau as well as several nieces and nephews.

As requested, there will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, September 10th at 11:30 A.M. in Holy Rosary Church, 21 Main St. in Hooksett. Burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Armand’s memory may be sent to the Pope Memorial SPCA, 94 Silk Farm Rd. Concord, NH 03301. Assisting the family with arrangements is The Roan Family Funeral Home of Pembroke.

WEARE – Wendell Philip Bassett, Sr., 95, of Weare, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, August 22, 2026.

He was born on August 4, 1931, in Sandown, NH, son of the late Raymond and Priscilla (Knights) Bassett.

Wendell was very active in his home church in Epsom - now Epsom Bible Church, where he served faithfully for many years, including transporting those that were unable to transport themselves. He then attended Weare Christian Church for the last 13 years. He was a great example of how to support a family by attending many sporting events for his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as visiting them in far-flung places like Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, California, West Virginia, Hawaii, Indonesia, China and the Philippines. Like most of the Bassetts, he had a large productive garden most years.

Wendell graduated from the The University of New Hampshire Thompson School of Applied Science in May 1951. He worked at Johnsons Dairy in Northwood, Cutters Farm in Epsom, Weeks Dairy in Gilford, and then Huckins Oil in Epsom for 30 years until it was sold. Wendell started out delivering oil - sometimes taking his kids to push the button to reel in the hose while he walked through the snow to connect the hose to the tank. He later became an oil burner technician for the rest of his time with Huckins. He then worked for 5 years for John Dodge Oil and in retirement did volunteer work for Christian camps, churches, civic programs and people who needed a handyman.

For several years in the 1960’s, Wendell and Barbara spent many Friday and Saturday evenings square dancing. They were quite the couple!

In addition to his parents, Wendell was predeceased by his beloved wife of 70 years, Barbara Katherine (Saturley) Bassett; and 12 of his 15 siblings.

He is survived by his children, Philip Bassett (Susan) of Daniels, WV, Randolph (Jo-Ellen) of Laconia, NH, Jane (David) of Dallas, TX, and Rebecca (William) of Weare, NH; 19 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; siblings, Donald Bassett of Epsom, NH, David Bassett of Penobscot, ME, and Carroll Bassett of Sandown, NH; and more than 60 nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at the New Rye Cemetery in Epsom on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 11:00am, with a reception to follow at Epsom Bible Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity in honor of Wendell’s memory. Assisting the family with arrangements is the Roan Family Funeral Home of Pembroke. PEMBROKE – David Peter Timmins, 77, a lifelong resident of Pembroke, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, August 20, 2026.

David was born on July 25, 1949, in Manchester, NH to the late John Thomas and Jeannette Marie (St. Cyr) Timmins. David was raised in Hooksett and graduated from Bishop Bradley High School in 1967. It was in high school that he met the love of his life, Carol Ann Wormhood, on a blind date. From that day, the pair became high school sweethearts and were married accordingly on February 14, 1970. They shared 56 wonderful years together rooted in devotion to one another and were the true dictionary definition of soulmates.

After graduating high school, David proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Following his honorable service, David returned home to continue his education. He earned both an associate degree and bachelor’s degree in engineering, respectively, and held a career as an electrical engineer. David was an extraordinarily hardworking, dependable man, who took great pride in his career up until his retirement after 30 years. Following his retirement, David and Carol moved to Sebastian, FL, where they remained for 12 years before returning to Pembroke to be closer to family.

David had many hobbies including fishing, stamp and coin collecting, repairing electronics, and collecting gems and minerals. Further, he was an avid train buff. David spent hours watching and studying trains, and he would often take his children and grandchildren down to the tracks with him to watch the trains pass by.

Above all, he appreciated the simple pleasures of spending time with those he loved, especially his grandchildren who lovingly called him “Poppy.” Poppy was a constant and loving presence to them and always reminded his grandchildren how much they meant to him. Poppy would always offer precise advice if needed and was the person first called whenever anything such as a tablet or electronic stuffed animal needed to be fixed. The saying was that “if Poppy couldn’t fix it, no one could.” David will always be remembered as a kind gentle grandfather, a loving husband and a devoted father. He will be deeply missed.

David is survived by his loving wife, Carol Timmins; his daughters, Kristine Bourassa, Melissa Wall and husband, Matthew Wall and Jessica Timmins; and son, Matthew Timmins. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Kayla, Sean, Zoie, Zander, Georgianne and Addison; alongside great-grandchildren, Savannah and Sawyer. In addition, sisters, Kathy Rice and husband, Mike and Barbara Lievens and husband, Bob; along with many nieces and nephews.

A memorial gathering will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, from 4:00-6:00PM at the Roan Family Funeral Home, 167 Main Street, Pembroke.

That wraps up 2026 Old Home Day Parade! A huge thank you to all who came out to see the parade. Another huge thank you to the Old Home Day Committee and volunteers, great job as always and thank you to Dignified Cemetery Services for letting us borrow your trailer every year so people can see the old town hearse!! We are off for games, vendors, food and chatting with our neighbors and friends at the field!

Concord – Jeffrey B. Cyr, 68, of Concord, passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at Concord Hospital following complications of a stroke.
He was born on March 4, 1958, in Hartford, CT; son of the late Cyprien A. and Dorothy B. (Barnard) Cyr. Jeff was educated in the local schools and from a very young age was eager to carry on behind his grandfather and father, as a firefighter, at age 17 Jeff started in an explorer program with Bloomfield Center Fire Department, retiring as Captain after 22 years, during his time at Bloomfield, he was also working as a volunteer EMT and a Certified Fire Marshall. He joined Pembroke Fire in 2001 and for the next 22 years he remained with the men and women of Pembroke, until 2023 retiring as Captain. In 2013, his daughter Martha joined the Fire Department as well. Over the years they went on many calls together, a time he cherished knowing the legacy would continue.
Over the years Jeffrey held many titles alongside firefighter, he worked as the Mechanical Section Chief for the NH State Fire Marshalls Office, where he was also instrumental in starting Amelia’s Law. He had a knack for always wanting to fix things, which came in handy over the years. He enjoyed Nascar races and in his younger years was very musically inclined playing the trumpet and the french horn beautifully. He also served in a per diem roll for Loudon as an EMT. Above all his family and fire family were first and foremost, his love for them always showed. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Gary W. Cyr.
He is survived by, his wife of 32 years, Jean (Bragdon) Cyr, his children, Deanna Cyr and her fiancé, Mason Stevens of Burlington, VT; Martha Cyr of Pembroke, Gary Cyr and his girlfriend Jess Maloney of Concord and Scott Schmid of New Bedford, MA; siblings, Kathryn Limmer of Denver, CO, Nancy Zeigler and her husband Gene of Liberty, SC, Lynn Crawford and her husband Jim of Belfast, ME and MaryJeanne Cyr and her husband Richard Gray of Bloomfield, CT, three grandchildren, Chase and Kali Schmid and Brayden Workman as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Friday, August 28, 2026, from 4PM-6PM at the Pembroke Fire Department, 247 Pembroke Street, Pembroke. A Memorial Service will begin at 6PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pembroke Firefighters Association Memorial Fund. The Roan Family Funeral Home in Pembroke is assisting the family with arrangements.
