A little life update… because it’s been a while. 🩷
The last time I checked in with you all, I was counting down the days, hoping my neurosurgeon would clear me to remove my neck brace and I’m happy to say … it’s OFF! 🙌
This recovery has challenged me in ways I never expected. Physically. Mentally. Emotionally. For someone whose life has always revolved around movement and fitness, being told to slow down has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do.
While my fusion is healing well, my surgeon also discovered that my bone quality is very poor, so I’m still under a lot of restrictions with more tests to come. My next round of infusions are in September and then I’ll see him again in October to check my progress 😊💪💪.
As a fitness trainer, I’ve always taught that there are seasons in life. Sometimes we push. Sometimes we grow. And sometimes… we heal, which is exactly where I am right now.
These autoimmune diseases still remind me that not every day will be easy. Some days I feel great, some days I’m in bed, but compared to where I was just a few months ago, I am so incredibly grateful. Being able to get out again, enjoy time with Jeff, laugh, smile, and simply feel like me again has been the BEST medicine for my heart and my mind 🩷🫶🏻
I’ve survived breast cancer.
I’ve faced autoimmune diseases
I’ve come through another major surgery.
And just like every challenge before it… this one won’t define me either.
Thank you to everyone who has checked in and continued to support me through this journey. Your encouragement has meant more than you’ll ever know🙏🏻🫶🏻
Here’s to healing, moving forward, and never giving up. WHATEVER you are facing right now, stay strong ….you got this. One step at a time. ❤️
