✨ Cupping: An Ancient Practice with Modern Benefits ✨
Did you know cupping therapy has been practiced in cultures around the world for thousands of years?
These photos show a cupping set from around 1860. Historically, both “wet cupping,” which involved small cuts, and “dry cupping” were practiced. The cupping offered at Be Well Massage is modern dry cupping—it does not involve cutting or bloodletting.
Using gentle suction, dry cupping may help:
💜 Ease muscle tension and soreness
💜 Encourage local circulation
💜 Improve flexibility and range of motion
💜 Support recovery from tight, overworked muscles
💜 Promote relaxation and an overall sense of well-being
Cupping may leave temporary round marks on the skin, but they are not usually painful and typically fade with time.
