You’re not weak. You don’t lack willpower. And you’re not someone that has a discipline problem.
You’re just trying to start your day with too much “control”.
This looks like you thinking your day should start with tiny little snacks: A single serving yogurt with a few berries. A rice cake with a little cottage cheese. A 1/2 banana or a tiny granola bar.
Girl, this isn’t cutting it. This bird food is not setting you up with fuel that sustains you through a workout and a stress filled day!
It’s also not helping you build muscle or getting you to a fat loss goal any faster.
And I used to be guilty of this too - so I know your ways 😉 Tiny meals are “easier”. You need something “fast”. You like to “graze”.
The real deal —> you either really don’t know what to eat or you’re scared to eat too many calories early in the day and have nothing left later..meanwhile you keep attempting to eat like this and the afternoon cravings keep hitting.
I promise, if you’ll eat something a little bit more substantial in the morning, you will be so much more satisfied through your entire day. This leads to better adherence, better eating habits and better results.
So you’re not white-knuckling your way through every day and you finally feel amazing!!
Think protein, carbs and fat at breakfast.
A full on MEAL sometime before 9-10am.
Most active women need around 500 calories MINIMUM earlier in the day to help fuel their energy and keep them satisfied.
I personally eat around 700-800 cals by about 10am every day. This is usually split between two pre and post workout meals but after skipping breakfast and eating tiny little meals for years, I’ve found that better fueling early in the day = MUCH better results and a better quality of life - because let’s be honest, no one is happy, healthy, and thriving when they’re body isn’t fueled!
I put together a free weekly meal planning resource with more meal ideas like these and the recipes. Comment PLAN and I’ll send it to you.
