Infusion day today!

We were in the ER super duper early this morning with Carter after he fell and hurt himself pretty badly. All the scans came back clear so we tucked ourselves back in bed around 2:30 am and then we were up to head back to the hospital for his infusion a few hours later. Needless to say naptime will be happening today at some point 😂 this kiddo is such a trooper ❣️

We had an unexpected midnight ER visit a few nights ago. Carter is doing okay, but it was scary because he was in so much pain and wouldn’t calm down. Thankfully it wasn’t too major, and Carter is doing better!

We’re in Birmingham for a few imaging tests and doctor’s appointments for other things that were already scheduled and then we’ll travel to Atlanta next week for more tests and appointments!

These past few months have been the most stable Carter has been his whole life and we’re so thankful for the ability to travel and live life without waiting for the other shoe to drop for once. There are still many daily things we have to manage and there’s never going to be another side of this life; but, we take the wins-big or small-and continue to make sure the good days outweigh the bad ❣️

One of our favorite events to attend as a family is the UWF Dance Marathon ❣️

We’ve had the opportunity to go every year since 2019! We get to share Carter’s story and update on how well he’s doing! Carter loves the attention and he kept trying to take the microphone from me this year 😂

The college students raise money for several months for the Studer Family Children’s Hospital via the Children’s Miracle Network and the Dance Marathon is the last day and the last push for the fundraiser. We are thankful for how the college community rallies around these kiddos and how these events bring everyone together for such a great and important cause to our family!

We took a quick trip up to Atlanta and met with a new specialist for Carter this morning!

They are starting him on a new and aggressive regimen for a few months to hopefully help keep some symptoms at bay and help stabilize his GI issues he’s had for years.

Adding in new and uncomfortable things isn’t fun for anyone-this kiddo literally deserves the world for what he has to go through, and normally with a smile on his face too!

Specific prayers-please pray that we all get used to this and it gets easier with time (Mia included-she is a rockstar sister!). And please pray that this works and that Carter will be able to stop it after a few months!
