CHEMO ENDED. WHY ARE MY FEET STILL BURNING?
For some cancer survivors, completing chemotherapy doesn't mean the symptoms immediately disappear. Chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy—or CIPN—can cause burning, numbness, tingling, pins-and-needles sensations, sensitivity or weakness in the hands and feet.
And sometimes the hardest part isn't the sensation itself. It's what that sensation changes. You may feel less steady walking. You may worry about falling. You may have trouble sleeping because your feet burn at night. You may stop exercising.
You may feel less confident driving or moving around.
At AWP, we work with patients experiencing treatment-related neuropathy with the goal of improving nerve-related symptoms and function. Your oncology team remains an essential part of your care.
Acupuncture can be considered as a complementary approach to help manage symptoms and improve quality of life.
