You don't have to choose between a nursing home and doing it all yourself. There's a lot of room in between, and that's usually where the right answer lives.
We hear it all the time from daughters and sons trying to figure this out. They think it's either a facility or carrying the whole thing alone, and to be quite frank, neither one has to be the answer. Most families land somewhere in the middle, and that's not a compromise. That's usually the right fit. We've experienced this personally.
In essence, care isn't one size. It might be a few hours of Companion Care so mom isn't alone in the afternoons. It might be help with bathing and dressing through Personal Care, or someone handling meals and laundry through our Homemaker Services so the house still feels like home. For families further down the road with Alzheimer's or dementia, it's caregivers trained specifically for that. And after a hospital stay or a fall, it might just be Respite and Injury Recovery care while everyone gets their footing back.
It boils down to this: our RN comes out, sits with your family, and builds a plan around what's actually needed, not a one-size package. One-to-one care, in the home, with a 4-hour minimum per shift. We serve families across Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, and Walton counties, and we want to be 100% above board about all of it from the very first conversation.
If you're somewhere in the middle right now, not sure if it's "enough" to ask for help, that's exactly who this is for. One conversation with our RN can bring a lot of clarity. No pressure, no commitment, just a clear picture of what your options actually are.
