🎀 October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

Today I checked an important item off my own health to-do list — my annual mammogram. 💗

We spend so much time taking care of everyone else, but this is your reminder to take care of you, too.

Early detection matters. If you’re due for your mammogram, get it scheduled.

September has always been a special month for me—my birthday is September 30—but this year I have a few extra reasons to reflect. 💙

This month marks 5 years with VITAS Healthcare, 2 years since I opened Emerald Waters Hormone & Weight Loss Clinic, and another trip around the sun.

Five years in hospice has given me experiences I could never have learned from a textbook. I’ve had the privilege of caring for patients and families during some of the most difficult and meaningful moments of their lives, and that work has shaped me tremendously as a nurse practitioner. 💜

Then, two years ago, I decided to take a chance on myself and open Emerald Waters. 🩵🤍

What started as an idea has grown into something I’m incredibly proud of. I’ve had the opportunity to care for hundreds of patients, continue expanding my knowledge, and build a practice centered around the kind of care I believe patients deserve.

As I get ready to celebrate another birthday, I can’t help but look back at how much has changed—and how much I’ve grown—over the last few years. 🎂

Balancing motherhood, hospice, building a business, and life in general hasn’t always been easy, but I’m incredibly grateful for where this journey has taken me.

5 years with VITAS. 💜
2 years of Emerald Waters.🩵
43 years of life.💕
And a whole lot still ahead. 💫

Thank you to every patient who has trusted me with their care, every family who has allowed me to be part of their journey, and every person who has supported and encouraged me along the way.

What an honor to be named a Top 3 Finalist for Best of the Bay! 💙

While we didn’t take home the win this year, seeing Emerald Waters Hormone & Weight Loss Clinic recognized among the top three in Women’s Health Services means so much to me.

I truly love serving this community and helping my patients feel heard, supported, and confident in their health. What started as a vision has grown because of the trust and support of so many wonderful people in our community.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to vote, recommend the clinic, share our name, and continue to support Emerald Waters. I am incredibly grateful—and I’ll keep working hard to provide the personalized care our community deserves.

Nutrition isn’t just about eating less—it’s about getting more from the foods you eat. 🥑🥦🍓

Nutrient-dense foods pack more of what your body needs: protein, fiber, healthy fats, vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients that support energy, muscle, hormone health, digestion, metabolic health, and overall wellness.

Ultra-processed foods, on the other hand, are often higher in added sugars, refined carbohydrates, sodium, and less-beneficial fats while providing fewer essential nutrients.

The goal isn’t perfection or never enjoying your favorite foods. It’s simply making whole, nutrient-dense foods the foundation of your diet most of the time. 💚
