NGL - it’s been rough getting back into the groove of things since Disney.

Yes, we were up painfully early to work a conference booth.

Yes, we also decided rest was for when we were dead and did ALL of the exploring.

And then I came home to a surprise challenge and spent more time running a block than I ever have.

But…free shoes!

Some of y’all would never know I’m an introvert, but when a guy walks by and comments on the orange mocha cold brew you’re gulping down, you might want to pick your head up and engage in conversation.

I knew immediately it was Steve - THE creator of and the soon to open .ravens - the perfect savory to the sweet of the bakehouse.

I love hearing people talk about their passions.

If you know me, you know I Mecca to Gideon’s any time I’m near Disney Springs and I’ve never had to wait longer than 10 minutes to get in. (Tuesday - Thursday, folks) I also collect the menu cards.

Hearing how he speaks about local small businesses and collaborations makes my heart swell. To be so successful at such a massive place like Disney Springs but to not forget your beginning roots 🥹

Steve - here’s your reminder to do that collab with George Wine Bar 😉

What a gem of a human for taking the time to chat with us AND take a picture.

If you haven’t been to Gideon’s, you should. It’s a little gothy, a little punk, a lotta love and deliciousness. The characters all have fun little backstories and then monthly menus feature different characters - gotta collect them all!

Trying new things today on my run!

Remember kids, we try new things on training runs only! Unless all the wheels fall off in your race and then you do you, boo.

Brian Carmack tried some carb dope by Formula369.com and let me try a pack. So here’s my thoughts!

- really easy to get down, I don’t need a chaser
- great flavor; not too sweet, not too lemony
- easy to carry; not much bigger than a gel

I definitely recommend giving this a try! I was drinking electrolytes in my handheld - which they also have.

Have you tried this yet? Let me know what you think!

It’s been almost 3 months without dip nails.

For a while I thought I wasn’t going to survive.

But, it actually hasn’t been too terrible.

At the end of May I had gotten to the point where I was just tired of wasting 2 hours every 2-3 weeks getting my nails done.

It was nice having strong nails that always looked good.

But I’m doing better upkeep with my natural nails.

While they aren’t as strong without dip, they do still grow and don’t stay so bendy.

Sure I’ve whacked them on something and torn a nail.

And I can definitely tell when they’re getting too long and I actually have to trim them!

My dip wasn’t anything extra special so I’m only saving about $65 every 2-3 weeks.

But that definitely adds up!!

Now I just get the bougiest of pedicures once every 5-6 weeks (I was already getting one in the same time frame + dip)

Pedicures allow me to get work done or read, unlike fingernails which don’t let you do much else while they’re working in your hands.
______

And if you’re curious where the money I’m saving went - most of it into my Roth IRA.
______

So are you team fancy nails or natural nails??

Who else has given up the salon life?

Running in Florida feels like running in Shrek’s buttcrack right now.

Even if the sun isn’t trying to fry you on the sidewalk, the air is so thick with moisture that you can’t decide if you inhale or chew.

Thankfully someone was looking out for us Sunday and it was overcast and breezy on our bridge run.

On the daily, we’re typically walking outside like we’re stepping into an air fryer.

And of course our tiny, solid black dog would love nothing more than to walk at high noon.

Thankfully we got her little boots or else Sarah McLaughlin would be singing about Addie’s burnt paws.

So help us all, it’s not even August yet 😖

But hey, it’s baby Coke season!!!

You might see an influx of the same boring foods on my stories.

First off, I’m always going to take pictures of my food.

One this reminds me what I ate so I can log it or I can remember I really enjoyed it.

Two, it’s showing you what I’m eating to wrangle in this fat loss.

Is Kim eating 2 boiled eggs, fruit, and protein coffee for the umpteenth day in a row?

Yep.

Consistency.

Or oh my, did Kim really eat Buffalo Wild Wings while trying to lose fat?

Sure did.

Having discipline the rest of the day, allows for things like BWW every now and then.

Couldn’t tell you the last time I ate BWW? But we had wings with my dad a few weekends ago and that’s what I wanted to eat for dinner 🤷🏼‍♀️

So let your phone eat first!

Document your intake. Remember the deliciousness. Hold yourself accountable.

I spent the weekend separating babies from their mothers.

Baby aloe plants of course.

A few years ago I rescued an aloe plant from a curb - I think I really wanted the pot, but I took the whole lot and caboodle.

Now I’m running an orphanage.

Let’s just say aloe plants are whorish.

You start off with one plant and the next thing you know you have 6 pots with 4 plants a piece.

Theses moms pop off babies like nobodies business.

So, I was tired of the excess aloe plants around the house and since marketing a sun burn gel isn’t in the forefront of my mind, I decided to send these babies off to new homes.

I offered them to my neighborhood first.

But the leftovers will be making their way to the local plant libraries.

Think Little Free Libraries, but for plants!

Hopefully I can get some nice exchanges for these little guys and they can go off to a new home to multiply 😵‍💫
