EverTrue’s most recent affordable housing community — EverTrue Crossroads at Bevo Mill — has openings to add new neighbors in its spacious one- and two-bedroom apartments. As a newly constructed project, EverTrue Crossroads at Bevo Mill can house a total of 64 residents in the low-income tax credit housing apartments, with washer and dryer in each unit. Welcoming central areas for activities, interaction and fun are available as neighbors continue the tradition of community found in the historic Bevo Mill neighborhood.

Thirty-six years ago, a historic civil rights law protecting the rights of people with disabilities was signed into law. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) ensures all people with disabilities have the same rights and opportunities as everyone else.

Thanks to building codes and guidance from ADA experts, EverTrue has created communities with accessibility planned for people with disabilities, particularly keeping in mind the accommodations that impact older adults most. We even use ADA concepts to improve surroundings and make life more comfortable for our residents without disabilities.

"These accommodations help residents to maintain their independence and preserve their dignity," said Todd Hageman, a registered architect and Director of Capital Planning & Design at EverTrue. "ADA features enable residents to move more freely and use spaces, like bathrooms, more safely. EverTrue has a long history to fall back on when deciding what is needed: we can look at our past building experience to see what works, what doesn't work and what can be improved."

Samaritan and Bethel Place residents took a tour of the America 250 exhibit at the Peoria Riverfront Museum. What an amazing display!

We learned so much about our history starting with the events preceding the Revolutionary War, the documents and decisions that made our country and provided the framework for the future. Through the Civil War, both World Wars and the Civil Rights Movement. It was an incredible exhibit and we were all happy we went!

Who says you need to be on your feet to dance? Our residents enjoyed an energetic and uplifting chair dancing session filled with music, movement, and plenty of smiles!

Chair dancing is a wonderful way to stay active, improve flexibility, boost coordination, and most importantly, have fun. From tapping toes to waving arms, everyone joined at their own pace while sharing laughter and great memories.

A few weeks ago, Lutheran Hillside Village stepped back in time with a very special resident and staff-curated museum.
From treasured family heirlooms and military memorabilia to keepsakes that tell the story of generations past, each artifact helped paint a picture of the people, sacrifices, innovations, and experiences that have shaped our nation over the past 250 years.
