Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour

Job description:
This position is responsible for providing medical assistance to dermatology physicians, including rooming patients, updating the patient’s medical history, documenting reason for visit. Assists the physicians with procedures including, but not limited to, biopsies, surgeries and treatments for various skin conditions. P/T Avg 3 days/wk. Benefits are offered. Working hours are approx. 8:00a-4:30p M-TH 8:00a-3:30F NO Nights, NO Weekends, NO on call. Closed on major Holidays

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The ideal candidate will be reliable and able to work self-sufficiently and stay on task without direct supervision. Excellent communication skills, Ability to multitask, prioritize and maintain organization in a high volume environment, Good time management skills, Maintain a calm demeanor and attention to detail during periods of high patient volume.

Works as part of a team to see a high patient volume each day.
Takes and documents patient PHI.
Updates patient history, medications and allergies in paper chart
Assists with numerous procedures such as ED&Cs, shave/punch biopsies, I&D and others.
Preps for and assists with excisions or other surgical procedures as needed.
Demonstrates strict sterile techniques.
Patient Education.
Logs pathology and properly fills out pathology requisitions.
Processes RX refills and submits prior authorizations.
Operates phototherapy units.
Fills liquid nitrogen containers for daily use.
Cleans and stocks patient examination rooms and supply areas.
Follows infection control practices.
Regular and reliable attendance.
Perform other duties as necessary
