Today is the day! 🎉 After all the hard work, dedication, and perseverance, I can finally look up and print my Esthetics License! I’m so grateful for this milestone and excited for everything that’s ahead. This is just the beginning of an amazing journey. As I continue working on building customized facials for my future clients, I’ll be shopping around for professional skincare products—especially from Dermalogica, along with a few other brands that align with my goals.

Dermalogica has always held a special place for me because it was one of the brands we learned about in school. The more I learned about their products, education, and mission to prioritize skin health over quick fixes, the more I fell in love with the brand. I really appreciate that they focus on personalized skincare because no two people’s skin is exactly the same.

My goal is to create customized facial experiences that address your unique skin concerns, not just offer a one-size-fits-all treatment. While you can’t change your skin type, you can find the right products and routine to help your skin look and feel its best.

Adulting Level: Unlocked 🔓😂

Today I got my money order, printed my letter, and mailed everything off for my esthetician license! ✨📬

But can we talk about the real milestone?

I bought a pack of stamps.

At what point in life do you go from never thinking about stamps to feeling oddly responsible for owning them? One minute you’re young and carefree, the next you’re buying stamps and mailing important documents like you’ve got your whole life together.

Is buying stamps officially part of growing up? Asking for a friend… (it’s me). 😂💌✨

A lot of people have been asking when they’ll be able to book services, so I wanted to give an update on where I’m at in the licensing process.

Getting my esthetics license has been very different from getting my massage license. With massage therapy, once I passed my exam, the testing fee was included and my results were sent directly to the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation. I looked up my license and it was active the very next day.

For esthetics, the process is different. I have to wait for either an email or a letter from the testing facility. Once I receive that, I must complete the application process, obtain a money order, and mail everything to the state for approval.

I truly appreciate everyone’s excitement and support, but I cannot legally perform esthetics services in Illinois until my license has been officially approved and issued. As soon as that happens, I’ll let everyone know and start scheduling appointments.

Who remembers a good body polish/salt glow treatment? ✨
I used to love performing these in school, and they’re such a great standalone service or add-on to a massage. A body polish helps exfoliate dead skin, leaves the skin feeling incredibly soft and smooth, and gives you that healthy glow.
I also have Biotone Salt Glow Scrub, which makes an amazing prep treatment before a self-tanning session. Exfoliating beforehand helps create a smoother, more even tan and can help the color last longer.
Would anyone be interested in adding a body polish or salt glow treatment to their next appointment? 🤍

I’m excited to share that my friend from school and I will be sharing a small suite at Caribbean Tan & Salon with Jessie the Estie. We are incredibly grateful for the warm welcome and the opportunity to be part of such a wonderful space.

As we begin this new chapter, I also want to clarify that we are operating as separate businesses from Caribbean Tan & Salon. While we will be located within the same suite, we will each have our own services, pricing, and booking systems.
