Meet Max!

You may be seeing a new face around Christian Psychological Associates this month. This is Max, and he'll be helping us answer some of the questions we hear most often about psychological testing.

First up: Is psychological testing about passing or failing?

Nope! There are no “good” or “bad” answers. Testing helps us better understand how someone thinks, learns, remembers, manages emotions, and functions day to day. It can highlight both strengths and areas where someone may need additional support.

Keep an eye out for Max throughout September as he tackles more common questions about psychological testing.

🎉 Happy Birthday to Mikell Ehnle, PsyD, LCP! 🎉

Today we celebrate Dr. Mikell Ehnle and the compassion, dedication, and kindness she brings to Christian Psychological Associates!

Mikell provides psychological testing and psychotherapy services for adolescents and adults in our Peoria and Bloomington locations. She has a special passion for supporting veterans, service members, and their families through psychological evaluations for disabled veterans seeking Compensation & Pension benefits.

Known for her warm personality, great sense of humor, and belief that laughter can be an important part of the therapeutic journey, Mikell creates a welcoming environment where clients feel supported and understood.

Outside of her clinical work, Mikell enjoys spending time with her husband, Andrew, their son Jesse, and their cat Dot. She loves cooking, gardening, crocheting, serving her church community, cheering on the Cubs, and celebrating all things The Wizard of Oz! 🌈

In addition to her established psychological services, Mikell is expanding her expertise through certification in Metabolic Psychiatry; an emerging field exploring the connection between nutrition, metabolic health, and mental wellness. Through psychoeducation, she is helping clients better understand how lifestyle factors such as diet, inflammation, and cellular functioning may influence mental health symptoms and overall well-being.

Domestic violence isn't always physical. It can also include emotional, verbal, financial, psychological, or controlling behaviors that affect a person's safety and well-being.

Some warning signs may include:
⚠️ Extreme jealousy or controlling behavior
⚠️ Isolation from family and friends
⚠️ Constant criticism, intimidation, or threats
⚠️ Financial control or restricting independence
⚠️ Fear of a partner's reactions

If you or someone you know may be experiencing domestic violence:
💜 Prioritize safety.
💜 Reach out to a trusted friend, family member, or advocate.
💜 Contact local support services or emergency services if you are in immediate danger.
💜 Remember! You are not alone, and help is available.
