🌟 Future Faces of Care 🌟
Today's CNAs. Tomorrow's Healthcare Leaders.
Meet Haley Korkowski, a CNA at Perham Living who is already making a difference while pursuing her dream of becoming a Physician Assistant.
Haley became a CNA while still in school to gain hands-on healthcare experience, but what she's learned goes far beyond clinical skills. Through caring for residents, she's discovered the importance of compassion, adaptability, and treating every person as an individual.
💙 "When residents express how much the care I provide means to them, it always touches my heart. I want to provide the same quality of care that I would want for myself or my loved ones."
Haley says she has learned to adapt her care to the needs of each resident. Explaining that not everybody is the same, so why should their care all be the same? She has also learned to ask for help when needing it, noting that all of the staff she has worked with have been more than willing to lend a helping hand or explain things for a better understanding.
One of Haley's favorite parts of the job is building meaningful relationships with residents. Whenever she learned something new about a resident, she would share something about herself in return. Through these conversations, they got to know each other better and formed a strong friendship.
🫶 "I have seen my work make a difference in a residents life by facilitating their day-to-day, allowing them to feel fulfilled. I have also seen my work make a difference in the families of the residents I care for, which might be them expressing their thanks for the care, or just by getting to see their loved one thrive, regardless of their diagnosis."
Working as a CNA has also shaped Haley's future in healthcare. She says her experiences have taught her that every person has unique needs and deserves personalized, compassionate care, lessons she'll carry with her throughout her career.
✨ "Being a CNA isn't just providing care. It's spending quality time with people, having conversations, brightening their day, and bettering the lives of those around you."
Thank you, Haley, for your dedication, kindness, and commitment to our residents. We're proud to be part of your healthcare journey!
