More than 65 student athletes from across Sonoma County received free sports physicals at Petaluma High School on Aug. 1, thanks to a team of Providence Medical Group volunteers.

Now in its third year, the event was led by Dr. Lucas King, PMG Orthopedic Surgeon and team physician for Petaluma High School, with support from fellow Providence providers, caregivers and family members who generously volunteered their time.

Together, the team helped remove barriers to care by providing the physicals students need to participate in school sports and stay healthy throughout the season.

Thank you to all our volunteers for supporting local student athletes and expanding access to care in our community. 💙🏈

We are deeply grateful to Ray Pounds, longtime Petaluma resident, Petaluma Valley Hospital Foundation board member and dedicated community advocate, for his transformative $500,000 gift to support new technology and innovation in surgical services at Petaluma Valley Hospital.

Ray and his late wife, Denise, shared deep roots in Petaluma, where they met as teenagers at Petaluma High School. Their connection to the hospital spans decades, from Ray's involvement in helping build the hospital in the 1980s to Denise's more than 20 years of care at the hospital she lovingly called her "second home."

This generous investment will help advance PVH's surgical technology, support physician recruitment and retention, and expand the hospital's top-notch care.

Together, we are strengthening the future of healthcare for our community.

Congratulations to our recent DAISY Award recipient, Michaela Anderson, RN!

Michaela was nominated by a patient’s parent for her compassion that shows through every moment of care. After their son was admitted to the emergency department, Michaela made a lasting impact by offering comfort and checking in often to support the family during a stressful time. The parent shared, “She went above and beyond her role as a caregiver… ‘M,’ you’re one in a million.”

Thank you, Michaela, for your outstanding dedication to compassionate care.

Juneteenth invites us to remember that freedom is not only a moment in history, but an ongoing call to live with courage, dignity and purpose.

Today, we honor the brave women and men whose quiet strength, truth-telling and faithful action carried history forward. Their legacy invites us to keep listening, keep serving and keep choosing courage and compassion.

May this day strengthen our resolve to keep serving, to keep listening and to keep leaning into care with hope and dignity.

Happy Pride Month! 🏳️‍🌈💞🏳️‍⚧️

At Providence health system, you belong. We proudly stand with and support our LGBTQIA+ caregivers and communities.

We were honored to participate in the Sonoma County Pride Parade for the fifth consecutive year on Saturday, June 6, 2026. More than 60 caregivers, friends and family members from across Providence Northern California joined us in marching alongside our Mobile Health Clinic. It was a day filled with love, inclusion and joy.

We were thrilled to connect with our community and grateful to be cheered on by such a supportive, loving crowd. A huge thank you to everyone who gave their time and energy to help bring this celebration to life!
