It’s 5 O’Clock Somewhere…
If milk is better than water… WHAT ABOUT BEER?!🍻
The answer? It depends on the beer.
Research comparing beer, water, and sports drinks found that:
💧 Water → ~34% fluid retention
🍺 Non-alcoholic beer → ~36%
🍺 Low-alcohol beer → ~36%
🍺 Regular 5% beer → **~21%**
⚡ Sports drink → **~42%**
So while non-alcoholic and low-alcohol beer performed similarly to water, regular beer was associated with greater urine production and poorer fluid retention.
Bottom line: Beer may contain water + electrolytes, but alcohol changes the equation.
So enjoy the beer… 🍻 Just don’t count on it as your hydration strategy. Have a milkshake for that😂
