Once a residential home to a large family it has been converted to an assisted living home while maintaining the feeling of a home. We are small, only 15 residents, and can provide one on one individual care. We can cater to each individual and meets their needs much better than a larger facility could manage. Our residents become family and we treat them like family. When care increases we do all

we can to maintain them at our home even through the end of life circumstances. We encourage and welcome family visits and gatherings just as if the home was theirs. We even have a guest room for our out of town family and guests. Why choose Lakewood? We understand it’s difficult to leave home but our goal is to make Lakewood the next best place to home. Lakewood promises excellent care and individual attention while keeping our rates the most affordable rates in our area! We understand that caregiver sometimes need a break from the demands of caring for a loved one at home so we also provide respite care with daily rates. Like the unique flowers they painted, each of our residents is wonderfully unique and beautiful. Some flowers are bold and bright, while others are soft and delicate, yet all beautiful don’t you agree? In the same way, each resident has their own personality, story, talents, and gifts that make them special.
Together, our differences make our community beautiful, just like a garden filled with many different varieties. Every flower is beautiful in its own way, and every one of our residents is a beautiful masterpiece from God. I think He’s an amazing artist don’t you? ❤️

One of our residents is headed off on a Florida vacation so we decided if we cannot go to Florida with her we’d bring some tropical vibes to Lakewood and also have a send off party for her. “I left it in the water!”

Two of our residents, Terry and Tom, made the best decision of their life today. They decided to follow Jesus openly and publicly in front of their friends and family at Lakewood Home. We are so blessed to have Lucas Wellmeyer volunteer his time and energy to ministering to all of our residents at Lakewood Home, which led these two into taking this next step of faith. I believe all hearts were full and many eyes were misty with Joy as we witnessed this beautiful site.

Dayshift/Evening shift position available!!! Come join our team!!!

Lakewood Home, Senior Living of Petersburg, is looking for a dependable and enthusiastic employee who loves to work with the elderly population. We are a small assisted living home of only 15 residents, so the job requires managing the day-to-day activities of our residents. This includes helping with bathing, dressing, medication reminders, daily meals, and housekeeping. Potential applicants do not need to be experienced, as we fully train each individual. Cooking experience, even in a home environment, is a preference but not a requirement. All interested persons please reach out to Lakewood Home at 812-354-8387 and let staff know your name and a good number to call you back on.
This position does require every other weekend schedule so please call only if willing to do so. We work hard as a group to be family oriented and for quality time with family and do our best to provide flexible scheduling and family time off. We need committed individual who is willing to do the same. We work very well with students in college. We also have had several retired persons work for us who are looking to get out of the house a few days a week.  The job is suitable for any age 18 to 85! Yes, we have had a few ladies in their 80s working for Lakewood!!! We look forward to hearing from you! God bless!
