Cute story about a “crooked tree.” 🥰

“My kids are starting to notice I'm a little different from the other dads. ‘Why don't you have a straight job like everyone else?’ they asked me the other day.

I told them this story:
In the forest, there was a crooked tree and a straight tree. Every day, the straight tree would say to the crooked tree, ‘Look at me...I'm tall, and I'm straight, and I'm handsome. Look at you...you're all crooked and bent over. No one wants to look at you.’ And they grew up in that forest together. And then one day the loggers came, and they saw the crooked tree and the straight tree, and they said, ‘Just cut the straight trees and leave the rest.’So the loggers turned all the straight trees into lumber and toothpicks and paper. And the crooked tree is still there, growing stronger and stranger every day.”

Let talk about my practice. The space is walled with old brick; the kind of brick that has lasted the test of time, within it’s walls there have lived many lives.

I chose this spot because of its history and have decorated it in the same fashion. When you come to see me as your therapist, we work together, get to know each other and unravel the story that is yours and yours alone.

My space offers a place for you to rest, to renew and reclaim what’s been lost, what’s been hidden and what lies ahead. Together we explore that and create new habits, begin to explore new patterns, maybe old ones that were lost that you’d like to find again.

This life is yours and yours alone. If these walls could talk; they would share so much love, loss, challenges and yet the brick still stands.

I’d love to help you put the pieces back together again and create something new, envision the life you long for and deserve.
