📣 Important Update: Blissful Day Center Grand Opening Delayed

Due to unforeseen building and permitting requirements that must be completed before we can officially welcome guests, the opening of the Blissful Day Center will be temporarily delayed.

While these requirements are outside of Blissful's control, we are working closely with all parties involved and will announce a new grand opening date as soon as we receive final approval.

We know many of you have been excited about this new space, and we sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding during this process.

Our vision for the Blissful Day Center has not changed. We remain committed to creating a warm, engaging, and supportive environment for adults 18+ and cannot wait to open our doors to the community.

💙 Northern Michigan deserves better, and we're doing something about it.

For nearly 60 years, the Bergmann Center served adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities across Charlevoix and Emmet counties. When its doors permanently closed on May 15, 2026, it left dozens of vulnerable adults and their families without a safe, supportive place to turn.

The truth is, day centers across Northern Michigan have been quietly disappearing for years. And the gap they leave behind is real. Aging parents are stepping away from their jobs to provide full time care at home. Adults who spent decades building independence and community are losing both overnight.

We opened our Blissful Day Center in response to this need. We know we cannot fix everything, but we can open our doors, show up for our neighbors, and make sure this community has one more place to land.

Because Northern Michigan has always taken care of its own. And we intend to do the same. 🤝

What does it look like when someone turns a furlough into a calling?

In April 2020, CNA Mandi Lloyd was let go from the very hospice she loved.

Instead of walking away, she started showing up… to people's homes, on her own, one client at a time.

6 years later, Blissful Home Care & Cottage has grown to 60+ employees serving Northern Michigan, and Mandi returned to open Blissful Cottage Assisted Living in the same building where her journey began.

She pays caregivers up to 50% above the state average, because she believes that when caregivers feel valued, clients feel it too. She treats every person like family.

And she built something that reflects a simple conviction:
