Quick pic with some of the boys from the Austin FC Academy team. Making it to the finals was definitely not easy out of 16 team. They didn’t win this one but they did great and finished 2nd. Next year they will take this tournament all the way I know it.

I’m so incredibly proud of Matthew and his performance. He only practiced with the Austin FC Academy twice before coming to this tournament. He played 6 games, he spent more than 60% of the game on the field, and scored 5 goals. He was so incredibly grateful for the opportunity to guest play with the team. Just another step towards his goals❣️

‼️PLEASE READ TO THE END

Yesterday Matthew had his second ODP training in San Marcos, TX. it was so cold and it had the nerve to drizzle too 😖. Dispite that and grated for the heater in the car he had an awesome time.

I also want to share with you something the coaches share with us. A 2012 kid and his dad were headed to the ODP training from Houston the night before and a drunk driver hit them. The dad survived with surgery but the son “Silas Ye” did not. They kept Silas on life support long enough so when his father got out of surgery he could say goodbye. I cannot tell you how hard it was to hear that news yesterday. We are always running around with our kids and my prayer is always “Lord please watch over us and protect us from all heart, harm and danger 🙏🏾.”

The take away from the coaches that they shared with us was no matter what your child does on the field make sure you hug them, tell them they did a great job, and say you love them. This process of soccer or anything that your kids are striving to do can be tough, not just for the kids but parents too. Even in the midst of pressure we have to take a moment and just reflect on our blessings, because in a blink of an eye things can change. Sending love and light to the Ye family 🙏🏾. Something like this could have been avoided if people would stop drinking and driving. So this season please consider what decision are being made when your enjoying time with family. Have a designated driver, or be responsible and just don’t drink. Someone’s bright future is in your hands.

How have you been🤔 What are you having for Thanksgiving 🥘? What are you Thankful for?

I am thankful for being a vessel of service to my family, friends and community❣️ And I have no clue what I’m having for thanksgiving dinner 🫣 I’ll figure that out next week 😂
