Congratulations to our Athlete of the Month, Ja’Lajiah Woodard! 🎉

Ja’Lajiah has been working hard at Encore Rehabilitation-Phenix City as she recovers from patella surgery. Over the past three months, she has shown incredible determination and dedication throughout her rehabilitation journey.

Her physical therapy has focused on regaining knee range of motion, improving strength, and restoring function so she can safely return to doing what she loves most—playing basketball. With each visit, Ja’Lajiah continues to make great progress through strengthening exercises, mobility training, and functional activities that are helping prepare her to get back on the court.

Ja’Lajiah was referred to Encore and says she would recommend us because “Encore has great service and they work around my schedule.” We’re grateful to be part of her recovery and proud of the hard work and positive attitude she brings to every session!

Keep up the amazing work, Ja’Lajiah! We can’t wait to see you continue reaching your goals and cheering you on as you get back to the game that is your passion! 🏀❤️

Encore Rehabilitation, our leaders combine advanced clinical training, industrial rehabilitation expertise, and functional recovery experience to help patients return to work safely and efficiently.

Meet Justin Hargett, PT, DPT, Regional Director of Operations for Encore Rehabilitation North Alabama/Northwest Alabama. Justin has been with Encore for 12 years, serving as Clinical Director at multiple clinics across the region while helping lead operations and clinical excellence across Encore’s Industrial Rehab programs.

Justin holds certifications in post-offer employment testing and ergonomics through WorkSteps and Atlas Ergonomics. He is trained in McKenzie lumbar and cervical spine techniques as well as being certified in dry needling. He brings a strong foundation in manual therapy, orthopedic rehabilitation, and sports performance training.

He earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy from Alabama State University and his Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from Auburn University, where he was also a four-year letterman in baseball.

Justin’s work focuses heavily on industrial rehabilitation testing, functional recovery, and sports and orthopedic rehab, ensuring patients receive high-level, evidence-based care individually tailored to successful return-to-work and performance outcomes.

His leadership reflects Encore’s commitment to excellence in Industrial Rehab across every community we serve!

We’re happy to welcome Nathan McDaniel, LPTA, to the team at Encore Rehabilitation - Phenix City!

Nathan introduces himself in his own words:

“My name is Nathan McDaniel. I was born and raised in Enterprise, Alabama. I attended school at Wallace Community College in Dothan where I graduated in 2020 as a Physical Therapist Assistant. I live in Auburn with my girlfriend and our two dogs, where I enjoy reading comics, playing video games on the weekends, cooking, and going for walks at some of the many parks in my area.”

We’re glad to have Nathan on the Phenix City Rehab Team and look forward to the care and dedication he brings to our patients!

We’re excited to welcome Ashton Marfice, LPTA, to the team at Encore Rehabilitation - Phenix City and Encore Rehabilitation - Opelika!

Ashton shares a bit about herself:

“I am originally from Rockford, Alabama, and earned my Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Faulkner University, where I also played collegiate softball. I went on to complete my Physical Therapist Assistant degree at South University in Montgomery.

"In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and child, family and friends. I also enjoy watching sports and exercising.”

We are proud to have Ashton as part of the Encore Rehabilitation family and look forward to the care, energy, and commitment she brings to our patients in Phenix City and Opelika!
