If staff can get you there safely and your baby responds well to a position change, you have options for birth positions even with an epidural!! 😮

Position changes are essential to keep labor progressing and to reduce injury to your pelvic floor and back.

Your feet and pelvic floor are connected in multiple ways!

1️⃣ Impact taken in from the ground at your feet gets absorbed through the legs and pelvis (aka impact from walking, running, and jumping)

2️⃣ Fascia! There are connective tissue lines that run from the bottom of your feet into the calves/lower legs, inner thighs, to the pelvic floor! It is all connected and affected by tension in one area of the chain.

3️⃣ Foot placement influences hip and pelvic posture! For example, if your arch falls inward, knee caves, your hip will also cave/rotate inward and make the pelvic floor tight.

Have foot and or pelvic floor issues? Come see us!

Experts are recommending earlier postpartum care!!

We will wait to do an internal exam until 6 weeks (or later if determined by your doctor) to allow for proper healing BUT this is a great opportunity to help with:

• any back or hip pain
• pelvic heaviness or pain (external observation of pelvic floor)
• body mechanics (lifting, feeding, holding)
• scar monitoring and healing
• early strength and mobility guidance

You don’t have to feel alone in those first 6 weeks ❤️

The sooner you come to pelvic floor physical therapy, the better honestly!!

If you are dealing with:

- pregnancy pain
- pelvic, low back, or hip pain
- incontinence
- constipation
- pelvic heaviness

Come in right away so symptoms don’t snowball!

…waiting never helped anyone ❤️‍🔥
