Join The CocoLife Beyond the Birth Room: Community Care & Social Services Series, a 7-part interprofessional education series designed to help doulas, birth workers, clinicians, and community partners connect families to critical social service resources.

This round focuses on IPV/DV safety planning, Medicaid/CHIP/PH95 coverage, basic needs, family crisis support, sexual assault survivor referrals, human trafficking awareness, the social service ecosystem, HIV/AIDS and SUD support.

Babywearing is more than convenience it is connection, comfort, culture, and care.

Carrying our babies close offers evidence-based benefits for babies and caregivers, including:
✔️ Supports bonding and attachment — Babywearing can promote parent-infant attachment and support baby development.

✔️May reduce crying and support soothing — Babywearing can help calm babies and may even help prevent crying before it starts.

✔️Can support breastfeeding and regulation — The closeness of babywearing can help support breastfeeding, newborn temperature regulation, and blood sugar stability.

Thank you for inviting us to be part of this year’s West Philly Research Day alongside our community partners at .

Our project w/ on providing doula care to families has stretched us, sharpened us, and affirmed so much of what we already know: Black-led organizations, Black families, and Black birth workers must be centered from the very beginning. Not added in after the vision, funding, or research agenda has already been shaped.

Our COO, .entsuah, represented CocoLife beautifully, sharing both the glows and the grows of this journey. She spoke to the phenomenal work of our doulas on this project. And what real partnership requires: timely and adequate funding, reciprocity, trust, long-term investment, and space for CBOs to name what we need in order to do the work well.

As we move through this year, we’re being intentional about kingdom-aligned collaborations; partnerships rooted in purpose, equity, and mutual respect.

And sometimes that means knowing when to say yes. And when to say no.

Research shows that maternal recovery can extend through 4 years postpartum, with parents still navigating mental health changes, chronic fatigue, bonding, financial stress, and physical recovery.

Studies have found that maternal depression can peak as late as 4 years postpartum, affecting up to 14.5% of mothers, and symptoms may persist for up to 3 years after childbirth. That’s why The Parent Hub is here! 🎉

The Parent Hub offers:
• Supportive community with other parents
• Education on infant care, feeding, bonding, nutrition, and emotional wellbeing
• Blood pressure education and emergency readiness support
• Financial wellness resources and group opportunities
• Newborn and mom essentials, including diapers and wipes
• Grocery gift cards for eligible participants
• Childcare during every session

This Memorial Day, we honor the all the servicemen and servicewomen who sacrificed.

Especially our Black brothers & sisters who gave their lives for a country that did not always see them as whole, equal, or free.

They served with courage. They sacrificed with dignity. They fought for freedoms they were too often denied.

Today, we see them. We salute them. We celebrate them. We remember all they gave — for their families, their communities, and generations to come.

As we pause in remembrance, we also hold space for the loved ones they left behind and for every military family carrying the weight of sacrifice.

May their legacy continue to move us toward justice, healing, and a deeper commitment to caring for one another.
