Community Outreach at Fox Chase Cancer Center's Mobile Screening Unity partnered with Senator Joe Picozzi today to increase access to health care by bringing breast cancer screening directly to the community!

Great to partner with Fox Chase Cancer Center to bring a mobile mammogram bus to our community today!

I’m proud to support legislation that increases access to early screenings and preventive care, because early detection can save lives. Thank you to the entire Fox Chase team for their commitment to prevention, patient care, and keeping our communities healthy.

It is Cancer Survivors Month! Our Patient-to-Patient Network (P2PN) of over 230 volunteer cancer survivors includes survivors from many types of cancer.
Donna McAllister, a bladder cancer survivor, is one of those volunteers. She helps patients by talking to them about her cancer experience. In the years since her treatment, Donna has mentored several patients thru P2PN. In addition to the Patient-to-Patient Network, Donna also serves on the Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC), the executive committee of the Fox Chase Board of Associates, and the PAWS for the Cause committee. Donna is truly dedicated to supporting other cancer patients!

Early cancer screening saves lives! But not everyone has equal access to or takes part in screening. Dr. Camille Ragin’s Screen to Save study aims to better understand why screening rates for breast, cervical, and colorectal cancers remain lower among Non-Hispanic Black (NHB) people, even more so among African and Caribbean immigrants compared to those born in the U.S. A key partner in this work is the African Family Health Organization (AFAHO), which has worked with Dr. Ragin for over 14 years. Today is ! The theme is "Unmasking the appeal – countering ni****ne and to***co addiction". Led by the World Health Organization (WHO), this campaign focuses on exposing industry practices that target youth through flavored products, social media, and misleading marketing of e-cigarettes and ni****ne pouches. The campaign will expose how the to***co and ni****ne industry continues to reinvent and repackage its products to hook a new generation, particularly children and adolescents, while evading stronger to***co control measures worldwide. https://loom.ly/VZxdnZU

If you or a family member have cancer, there are many things to consider if travel is on the horizon for you. Taking a trip when you have cancer can benefit your overall well-being. By continuing to do things you enjoy, you can help avoid common issues people face during treatment, like anxiety, depression, and feeling isolated or lonely. Always check with your cancer care team first. Whether you can travel between cancer treatments varies based on the type, schedule, and goal of your treatment. Be aware of precautions to take while traveling during cancer treatment. Learn more: https://loom.ly/VL0aBEQ

¡Tu piel es única—cuídala! ☀️
