Pediatric spine deformity is usually caused by structual changes within the bones, discs, and other elements of the thoracolumbar spine. Occasionally, other problems can cause what appears to be a spine deformity. Here is a case of a disc herniation which caused the apparent spine deformity. After the herniation was removed the spine alignment dramatically improved! A little disc can cause big problems!
