Last night we were thrilled to see former department chair and Emeritus Professor of Anesthesiology, Dr. Zvi Grunwald, honored with a portrait unveiling. He is only the second member of the department of anesthesiology and perioperative medicine to have that distinction. The evening was filled with memorable speeches and a great time. Congrats Dr. Grunwald and excellent work! You will have an enduring legacy within Jefferson.

Mikey and Pete are retiring! Two of our excellent and very experienced CRNAs, Mike Dower and Peter Drew, are hanging up the scrubs in exchange for camouflage and cruise ships in Mike’s case and other pursuits for Pete. They were the original CRNAs for Dr. Rothman when he came to operate at TJUH! Congrats on long successful careers to these two stars!

Just in: Jefferson Anesthesiology Residency Program is ranked #13 nationally based on research output. This is an improvement by several spots from 2025 and is a reflection of the talent and productivity of our faculty, as well as residents and fellows. See the link (requires login):
