In 2001, Amy Lustig, DPM and Donna Myers, DPM saw a need in Northeast Philadelphia for a podiatry office that was welcoming to all. Since then, it has been our goal to provide quality foot and ankle care to patients in Northeast Philadelphia. Your feet do not have to hurt! Don’t suffer when most foot pain can be relieved. Those heels? Gorgeous. Your feet after wearing them all night? Not so much.

High heels are basically a beautiful trap.
You put them on, you feel like a superstar, and then somewhere around hour three you are doing the "I should have brought flip flops" shuffle across the parking lot.

Over time, regularly wearing heels can lead to bunions, hammertoes, heel pain, and nerve damage. Your toes are not meant to be squished together like they are riding a crowded subway.

Pedicure season is here! Whether you are prepping for party shoes, the beach, or just a night out, keeping your feet looking AND feeling good matters. A few things to keep in mind:

Do not shave your legs right before a pedicure.
Fresh nicks can let bacteria in.
Bring your own tools to the salon to avoid picking up bacteria or fungus.
Skip the foot razor.
Use a pumice stone or foot file instead.
Thick or discolored toenails could be a sign of a fungal infection.
Do not cover it up and hope for the best.
