Science should inform your training, not override your experience. Research gives us averages. Your body gives you feedback.

If warm-up sets consistently help you perform better, that matters, even if a study says they aren’t necessary.

Read the research. Test it. Keep what actually works for you.

We’re stepping outside fitness and medicine for this one because apparently the internet needs an intervention.

No, you’re not beating a chimpanzee in a fight.

It’s not going to square up and box you. And yet there are people who genuinely believe they could win.

So let’s settle it: anyone taking themselves over the chimp? 😂

Your ChatGPT diploma doesn’t qualify you to give medical advice. Having access to information and being able to confidently repeat it isn’t the same as having the education and expertise to understand it.

That’s where the Dunning-Kruger effect can become especially dangerous in healthcare.

Use AI. Ask questions. Learn. But don’t confuse access to information with medical expertise.

A 45-minute arm workout might make you tired and sore. That doesn’t automatically make it effective for building muscle.

When the goal is muscle growth, more volume isn’t always better. A few high-quality sets performed with enough effort can accomplish more than piling on exercise after exercise just to feel like you worked harder.

Train for results, not exhaustion.

“Functional muscle” sounds great but what does it actually mean? Strength built through resistance training doesn’t become useless outside the gym. A stronger muscle is still a stronger muscle whether you’re deadlifting a barbell, picking up a box, or carrying your kid.

So let’s hear the argument: What makes muscle “functional”?

Drop your definition in the comments.

Seed oils might be one of the most demonized foods on the internet. Can consuming too many calories from fat contribute to weight gain? Of course. But that’s very different from claiming seed oils themselves are inherently unhealthy.

Research consistently shows cardiovascular benefits when saturated fats are replaced with polyunsaturated fats.

So why are seed oils still getting so much hate?

Can you build “lean muscle” instead of regular muscle? No special workout determines whether the muscle you build is “lean,” “functional,” or anything else. Building muscle and losing body fat are separate goals.

Want more muscle? Train to build it.

Want to look leaner? Reduce body fat.

Fitness doesn’t need to be as complicated as the marketing makes it.

Your rest period shouldn’t end just because the clock says so. When training for muscle growth and hypertrophy, the goal is to recover enough between sets to maintain performance. Different exercises, loads, and training intensities may require different amounts of rest.

The stopwatch is a tool not the boss.

How long do you typically rest between sets?

09/01/2026

You don’t need to destroy a muscle to make it grow. Soreness and muscle damage can happen after training, but neither should be the goal of your workout.

If you want hypertrophy, focus on what actually matters: progressively exposing the muscle to greater mechanical tension over time.

Stop chasing soreness. Start chasing progression.

Diet soda causes Alzheimer’s? That headline deserves a closer look. Finding an association between two things doesn’t automatically mean one caused the other. Lifestyle, body weight, existing health conditions, and other variables can completely change how we interpret observational research.

This is why reading beyond the headline matters.

Diet soda: drinking it or avoiding it?
