Congratulations to Dr. Kimberly Waddell in receiving her first NIH R01 award as an independent principal investigator!

This five-year award, totaling ~$4M, will support her project, “A Remote, Integrative Behavioral Science and Mindfulness Health Coaching Intervention to Increase Physical Activity Post-Stroke”

The fully remote, three-arm randomized clinical trial will enroll 150 adults living in the community after stroke and evaluate whether gamification with social incentives, with or without individualized mindfulness health coaching, can increase daily walking and improve function, quality of life, psychological health, and self-efficacy. The study represents an innovative shift toward a more holistic, accessible, and scalable model of post-stroke care.
