Virgo Season — working with conditioning
Today I used the Yesod treatment on myself.
In Esogetic Medicine, Yesod is described as a kind of psychological archive. It is associated with memory, the unconscious, and the experiences and conditioning we accumulate throughout life. The material describes Yesod as recording what happens to us and collecting what we learn or are taught, beginning in childhood. Over time, those experiences can shape habits, behaviors, preferences and the personality we present to the world.
Yesod also has a physical side. It is associated in this system with the pelvic organs, fluid balance, hormones, the limbic system, and patterns of muscular tension and spasm. So it creates an interesting bridge between our accumulated experiences and the way patterns may be expressed through the body.
That felt especially relevant during Virgo season. Virgo naturally draws our attention toward refinement, improvement and what could work better. But before adding another thing to fix, it can be interesting to look at the patterns we’ve already accumulated through family, culture, expectations and experience—and how easily learned patterns can eventually feel like simply who we are.
Today’s Yesod treatment works with points on both the front and back of the body using IR/UV light pen and gradations of gray. For me, it was a different way of approaching Virgo’s desire for improvement: not immediately asking “What needs fixing?”but first becoming curious about what has been learned, repeated and carried forward.
